Lg monitor powersave mode and randomly turning off on ps3

I know nothing about computers so i need help. i bought a ps3 and new pc desktop as well as a w64 lg lcd monitor (to display for both systems).[please note this is not the same model as in the product info list] i asked someone to help me set it up and even though the monitor displays both hdmi and dvi mode fine, it randomly turns itself off. other times the touch sensor doesn't respond to being turned off whether or not the ps3 is on or off. the screen doesn't have a timer on, and neither ps3 setting or computer. what is going on? ty :)

My friend just bought a new computer when i turn it on to format the monitor will just output the LG logo then powersaving mode and its all balck again the monitor button is color orange . ive already...

It looks like something is wrong with the video output then. It could be the graphics card in the computer or even the motherboard. Try connecting it to a different monitor before changing out any parts first.

LG Flatron L177WSB-how would I use my newly purchased unit after switching it on, LG logo appears followed by the Power Saving Mode it all goes black on the screen.

Hi, the Power Saving Mode, turns the screen off to conserve energy. On the remote, press Menu, and scan to Power Saving Mode. You can change the amount of time, when the Screen turn-off, the TV shut-off etc. You can set the time to (5 min) to, (never, turn-off). This should help with your problem. Thanks paul7of9

LG W61 monitor keeps going 2 power save mode & won't come back up

trromig, I really don't think it's in powersave mode. I think that your CCFLamps are turning OFF because the Switch-mode-power-supply/Inverter supply is going into SHUTDOWN MODE after detecting a FAULT condition. First thing to do is visit YOUTUBE and search out long 8-12min video clips of LCD monitor disassembly and or LCD repair. If you are now using your pc with a swapped in monitor to do this FIXYA type thing, then you know it's not the PC that could be the problem! It's the LCD! One thing you failed to mention was the AGE and approximate total "ON" hours your Lucky Goldstar W61 has on it. It helps to know that information in diagnosing the cause of failure. Is the unit still covered by warranty? We here at fixya need to know these things to give you advice on all the options you have. Get back to me on fixya or e mail lmistyrel @ aol.com Bye for now. I'm louie12fix on fixya

My monitor lg flatron l1730s keeps going into powersave mode

check your powersaving options in windows>control panel>power options

there is a bunch of options in there that could make your monitor go into power saving mode.
also check your video card options and menu of the monitor itself all could possibly contain a sort of powersafe option.

most likely indicated with amount of minutes untill... either power off screen blank or screen saver.

Second monitor - 'power save' mode.

Firstly, you can try to switch the second with the first monitor. Secondly, use only the second monitor as a main monitor and check that if there is still a problem or not. It might be because of BIOS. You can check and update BIOS with your computer manufacturer.

Powersave problem

If you are using a desktop computer, chances are that you don't want the computer to go to sleep automatically. This is even more the case if you are running Vista in a virtual machine for testing purposes.
Disabling power management is simple and easy. First go to the start menu and click on the Control Panel.
Click on the System and Maintenance link

Then click on the Power Options link:

It will disable automatic sleep mode, but will still turn off display.\
You can click on change plan to disable.

If you are using XP than.

Open control pannel-> click on power option -> keep turn off monitor setting to never.
