Hello there timiss35.

Here's your GEEK-steer ...

There's no exact answer to your question. That's because it all depends on the quality of the video contained on the files in which you'll be adding the your 350 GB drive.

WHY: When you record [(re)encode] a video file, you can choose and adjust its quality based on what's known as "bitrate". In simple terms, this is the amount of bits (detail) added to every frame/second of the video. The higher (more) the bitrate, the better the quality. Also, the bitrate of the audio may be adjusted for quality, resulting in a variance of its portion of the file size.

EXAMPLE: You can achieve acceptable quality video at approx 775 kbps (Kilo-Bits Per Second) for video, and 128 kbps for audio. This is a fairly standard choice based on the fact that you fit a standard 120 minute movie onto a 700 MB CD disk (approx 6MB/minute).

CONCLUSION: Assuming every file was encoded at the aforementioned bitrate levels, you could fit approx 1,000 hours of video onto a 350GB storage device, .

TIP: Get yourself a bitrate/codec analyzing applet. It's an invaluable must-have little tool for every videophile. There are many freeware choices to choose from, but here's a couple I use often ...

Good luck, and thanks in advance for posting back ...

I just now see that you submitted your question in the "MP3 and Digital Media Players" section of FixYa.

Therefore, I'll assume your 350 GB storage device is a portable player/PDA. If this is the case, my 775/128 combo example would still substantially apply. Why? A very common bitrate standard for small screen portables is 640/96. Therefore, as you can mathmatically figure, they are not so dramatically far apart.

I also presume you're maybe fairly new to this territory. In which case I'll give you my recommendation for which video related software to help you with your video chores:

That would be AVS. I've evaluated more apps than I could ever hope to count, and AVS is the best overall combination of capability, ease-of-use, reliability, and value. I do use several other apps, but AVS is the workhorse I use at least 80% of the time.

But don't take my word only, it's agreed by There are many very good apps out there, but there are far many more that are CRAPware. I hope this advice can help you avoid getting stuck with the latter.

Once again, good luck, and thanks in advance for posting back ...

It sounds like a power supply problem not the mother board, you have some bad electrolytic caps in the power supply that need to be change, or just replace the power supply.

What power supply do I need for the Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H Motherboard. I will be using an UPS to keep power on for 10 minutes if the mains fails.

At an average PC with 17"CRT Monitor consumes 200-350 Watt. Allied peripherals and accessories etc. add to the overall power consumption. Hence, it is alway better to keep a buffer while estimating power consumption. So, It is recommended that UPS of atleast 500W may be used. (UPS of higher Power Output /Wattage would allow to keep up some other devices as well in case of power failure)

Also, CPU Power Supply (Internal) generally should be 350-450 watts.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network. That would be a case of remote interference. You'll need a model 6.3 or 6.4 remote. You can set it to a uhf frequency instead of an ir that will correct the issue.

Check your power supply - it could be providing too much current. There could also be a faulty VRM on the board, but there is nothing you can do about that.

A little thermal epoxy and ramsinks (video card ram modules sized heatsinks) might help.
