Question about Bosch Benvenuto B30 Espresso/Coffee Maker

Open Question

The twin nozzles in our Bosch B30 Coffee machine are Blocked.

The twin nozzles our Bosch B30 Coffee machine are blocked. When making a coffee the nozzle appear to be blocked so that the water being pressed through the system has to find anyway out it can and is coming out of around the top of the silver nozzles and the bottom middle bit of the movable nozzle head. There seems to be 4 small holes around the center of each nozzle and when I push a toothpick up each hole it is stiff and the toothpick dislodges coffee grounds/stuff. I feel that if the 'gunk' in the nozzles is cleaned out the water will flow properly again and I have proved this after using the toothpick on the nozzle holes - the water flowed well for about half a cup before becoming blocked again.

How do I clean these nozzles? Is there a way to remove the whole head unit or nozzles to clean them properly?

I managed to fix this problem. Here is what I did.

Turn unit off at rear or wall to be safe.
Remove the bottom trays so you have more room under the nozzles.

The Plastic Head unit can have its front unclipped.

Look between the nozzles underneath the movable head and you will see a small clip, press the middle bit in and gently pull down and forward the outer part of the clip which is at the very rear edge of the bottom. Once it is a little bit free you can see the edges have a gap which you then need to gently prise/unclip about 3 times up each side. This then lets you remove the whole front piece. Be gentle but firm so you can get it off without too much force.

Next you will see a plastic reservoir with the two nozzles at the bottom and a feed hose in the middle.

I found it reasonably easy to carefully move the hose up and off the plastic spout.

I then was able to pull the top of the reservoir forward and the bottom came up and out to give me the whole reservoir free in one piece.

The reservoir will not easily break down any further and to be honest I do not think you should need to. I think it might be possible to remove the nozzles themselves but thought I could clean the unit without going to the extra removal effort.

Clean the nozzles and reservoir. I used running water, blowing thru the nozzles and the top holes and more running water and more blowing did it for me. If something is really stuck in there then use a toothpick carefully. I did it several times over to be sure I had it all as there seemed to be some small bits of coffee coming out after I thought I had it cleaned. Once clean ... next step.

Reassemble the unit in reverse of before.
    - put reservoir back in (nozzles slide down in and then snap top back into position).
    - put hose back on to plastic inlet bit. You may want to do this before putting reservoir back in. See how you go.
    - At this point I tested the unit, perfect cuppa!
    - Reattach the front cover, do this by putting it against the head vertically and make sure the bottom clip goes on the outside of the bottom fixed clip piece. The whole front should then snap on really easy once in position to do so.

There you go! Saved a repair fee and made me really happy to have solved this ... it really only takes 5 to 10 minuntes now that you know what to look for.

    Good luck!

SOURCE: "water pipe empty" icon will not disappear from display screen 3, cannot brew coffee, first use - second machine to have this problem

I have the exact same problem mentioned above with a brand new out of the box Bosch B30. The LCD screen says FILL UP PIPE-SYS / PRESS CAFE. Pressing the CAFE button causes the unit to say PIPE-SYS FILL UP. No noise is made. Then 10 seconds later it goes back to saying FILL UP PIPE-SYS / PRESS CAFE. This repeats forever. I tried calling Bosch customer support and they were clueless. The customer service lady went and asked "the their expert who works on these units" and all he says is "it's defective and shouldn't be doing that." My machine is definitely sensing water in the tank fine. If at anytime I remove the water tank or place an insufficient amount of water in the tank, the LCD screen gets stuck on ADD WATER until more water is added. After that, it goes right back to the FILL-SYS / PRESS CAFE loop.

SOURCE: Bosch Benvenuto built in Coffee

The quality of the coffee depends on the amount of actual coffee used - if it's too weak then not enough coffee is delivered to the filter by the dispenser. You will have to take the dispenser apart to see what's preventing it from doing its job - most likely it's clogged and in need of a serious cleaning.

Bosch benvenuto b30 had for years and loved. Now when use beans the coffee/espresso is too watery and pucks are like sludge after. Works good when use preground coffee .

You have accidentally turned down the brew strength selector, on front of unit just above "clean" and "descale" buttons. Dial it the the maximum. Will grind longer, make more grounds, larger puck, stronger coffee. Or this dial is broken/ wire broken etc. u can disassemble per some other posts on here and check wire connections. I did all that then realized someone had just turned it down. So I turned it to maximum strength and problem fixed.

Water leaking into tray while coffee is brewing. tray needs emptying after 3 shots. now it is going through the cycle but no coffee is coming out. steam works fine

i had a problem similar to this one. The amount of water coming out through the nozzles was much less than it should have been and much of the water was ending up in the tray. I found the problem to be the drainage valve, there was a crack in it. I was able to order a new one - bosch part number 622540 from
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/product/Valve/622540

attached is a picture of the whole unit and also a detail of the split.

I did try to repair with super glue but it does not stick to this veryhard plastic

Bosch Benvenuto B30

The cleaning program is different from the descaling program.
The machine is now wanting you to descale the machine. Get some descaling powder or tablets, desolve in water and let the machine run through the descale program.
