Im having trouble installing my double din alpine deck in my 2008 f-150. At one point I had everything installed and ready to go, But when I went to open the face to put a cd in the the monitor had trouble coming out and jammed in the dash kit as it was going in. It seemed like it was to tight. I need to know if Im using the right dash kit. Its and Alpine IVA-W200 and the dash kit is Metra 95-5812

According to Metra you are using the right dash kit you just need to figure out the alignment for the radio. It will take some time but you will get it. Try to pull the head unit forward on the mount kit for the clearance.

Hello, Chose another powersource for your device. It is possible that you are tied into a circuit breaker that is constantly resettting. Maybe use an MP3 player for the trip and work on it when you get back.

Do I need a housing to replace stock stereo? Or will this just fit in

There are two types of receivers. Double-DIN and single-DIN. Double-DIN is easy to see as it is DOUBLE the SINGLE-DIN's height. If your vechile is a single-DIN it will only be about 3-4 inches tall, while the DOUBLE-DIN is doulbe that 6-8inches tall.

If you have a DOUBLE-DIN in your car and are installing a SINGLE-DIN you will need a housing.

If you have a SINGLE-DIN in the vechile you will not be able to install a DOUBLE-DIN without heavy moddification and cutting.

Please rate if this helped :)

After i installed an after market deck on my 2001 chevy suburban my dash lights went out what can be the problem

I would put things back to stock and see if they now work. If they dont you may of shorted out a solder joint and ruined the cluster which would have to be replaced as a whole. If after you get it bact to stock and everything works I would be hooking up to a different power source. Also its always a good Idea to run an extra ground wire from engine to body when you add a more steroo system or accessories. This prevents electrolisis in the radiator which could eat thru the heater core or radiator.

How do i remove the Cd player from the dash?

Alpine uses a non proprietary set of pins on each side of the deck. To get access to them you will need to remove the faceplate. Then remove the thin plastic trim from around the din chassis.

Normally using a butter knife or another thin piece of metal in each side between the deck and the DIN enclosure will allow you to depress the locking pins, then slide the deck out of the chassis.
