Re: xbox 360

This is easy... you just have to log onto your computer... go to start... click on run... type in cmd... you will ip address and you will see dns servers... go onto xbox 360... go to network settings... change to manual settings... change ip address to something just above the ip address of the computer... so if the computer ip address is then change the xbox 360 to subnet mask change the dns servers to what they are in the box... and the gateway to what default gateway is...that should work for you...

I had the same problem. You have to call your internet provider about the router or modem or if they cant help you call xbox live.

Well i got to network connected but internet failed

You may need to also plug in your computers DNS settings into your XBOX. 1. You should be able to click Start, type "view network connections", hit enter. 2. Right-click and hit 'Status', then 'Details'. 3. Notice the IPv4 DNS Server. 4. Go to your system / Network / Wired on the XBOX and try typing in your Computers DNS numbers (ex. Unless they changed it on the new Blade system so that you HAVE to have and IP, subnet, and gateway, in which case, take note of those three numbers on your machine and plug those into the XBOX settings too (except if your computer shows, set your XBOX to something like, everything else the same).

Need a dns number it keeps failing when trying 2 get on line

I had some problems my self when trying to get online to xbox live. Usually when it can't find your DNS is when something is wrong for example:

  • Wires not connected propperly.
  • Information you entered not correct.

If the problem still persists, contact Microsoft.

Dns number failing

The DNS number is the connection you are getting from your Internet Service Provider. When you get this failure, it means nothing else is gettin internet. (should mean that.) I would call them to ask,.

Try calling XBOX customer support. They will know exactly how to fix your problem. Their number is 1-800-4MY-XBOX. (1-800-469-9269). This is the best way to fix this problem because the technicians are certified and they know what to do.

Hope this helps,

You might not have been banned. Not being able to connect to the DNS or having it fail can be caused by a few things:
The DNS address serves couldn't be reached
The info on the DNS server couldn't be snagged from your ISP or the DHCP server
The DNS values in the dashboard are wrong.

I don't want to come off like I am insulting your intelligence, but check your internet connection to make sure you have the ability to connect. I'm sure it is all in proper order. So the next thing you need to do is check to see if you IP is set and passes all the tests. If it isn't then you can click the more link on the test page to follow the directions on how to fix it.

You may also want to check out if you are using a XBOX live compatible ISP. Click on Learn More to see if you are using the right ISP or to adjust your settings. You can also check out the connectivity wizard to find out if there are some other issues revolving around this.

Still running into problems!?!?!? try running the modem directly into your XBOX. This has helped me in a few time of need.

Here are some helpful links on what you can do when your DNS fails:
