Question about Bosch Nexxt 100 Series WFMC1001UC Front Load Washer

1 Answer

My dryer will be three years old in a month. I was so disappointed when it stopped drying my clothes. The inside of the dryer would sweat and drip with water. The tub would heat up and the lent sensor would alert me that it was full. It wasn't full. I went to Lowes and asked. I was given a number. We've had a repair guy out. He says $500 to fix. A blower has gone out and something else. $76 for the trip to look. Noone around to service the appliance. The mold grows in the washer/ the dryer doesn't work! My, I wish I'd invested in another brand. NEXT 100 series set. $1700 when I purchased it. What should I do?

Lets consider this. It is not working now ... so you probably will not make it not work any more than it doesnt work now. Want to learn?

Get the back off it ... look for the fan. See if it is broken: See if you can spin it by hand. Will the motor run it?

Yes broken? Go to repairclinic.com and get a replacement.

not broken? go look for a reason that your machine cannot breath - Id suspect a clog somewhere.

Let me know what happens please.

I have a Kenmore he5 steam dryer that is dripping water out of the steam nozzle on the inside of the drum. This happens on any drying cycle and causes clothes to not dry. How do I fix this?

Does it drip just when the unit is operating or do you find water in the machine when it is not running? Try shutting the water off to the dryer and see if the dripping stops. If it does the water inlet valve needs to be replaced.

Take to much time to dry

Dear Ms.B.
I'd start by unfastening the vent hose off the back of the dryer and running the hot air into the room or with a large pipe out a window, to see if the vent pipe is plugged to the outside. If that does not speed up drying, check to make sure the washer is not at fault, by the wetness of the clothes. A loose belt can let the clothes be too wet from the washer. Then, I'd take the whole dryer apart and clean the inside. In the past 3 months, I have had 3 different dryers that were full of lint, over a two shoe-boxes of lint inside each one. The reason for the buildup is poor design, and each dryer was many years old.
Be blessed.

My 1993 Maytag Clothes Dryer heats up, turns but does not dry the clothes unless I place an absorbent towel in with the items. It sweats water from the bottom of the dryer. What is going on?

To dry clothes, we need 2 things:
1-heat to evaporate the water from the clothing
2- adequate air flow to exhaust the moist air, thereby drying them.

Your heat seems to work.....if you stop the dryer mid-cycle, the clothes should be hot.

It sounds to me like you have a lack of air flow through the dryer. If you can get to the exhaust vent grill outside, then see if you get a large volume of air coming out of it. If not, then look for the louvers stuck closed on your outside grill, or any kind of blockage in your ductwork.

Perhaps undo the vent at the back of the dryer TEMPORARILY

For the dryer to take to long to dry is usually a sign of the vent duct work being restricted with lint. Check the vent hose, outside vent door, and the internal duct for lint buildup.

Is your dryer vent clean? I would check to make sure vent is cleaned.
sounds like its not exhausting properly

When I opened the dryer to check to see if the clothes were dry, I noticed that the inside of the dryer was sweating. I have seen a dryer do this before..

Check your vent. It may be kinked or clogged. Also check the trap door on the outside is not stuck. Your not getting enough air flow. But if you opened the dryer in the first minutes of drying you will see some sweating and it is normal. good luck.

A piece of the steel srum tore out during drying

If you can find a friend who is also an amateur welder or a professional,,you can have that piece welding back in for cheap,,,P.S. you will have to repaint the inside of your drum though afterwards
