Have you connected the feed from your breaker box to ADJACENT lugs on a dual pole breaker? By code you must use a ganged breaker.

You should use a voltmeter to verify the plug is getting power on teh desired pins.

Coming out of the breaker box going to the welder plug what size wire should i use to run a lincoln 225 welder

It depends on how far away you are going to be away from the breaker box, using a #2 wire should be fine for your welder.

Where does the three power wires hook up to the off on switch. The diagram on my welder is faded. There are two gray wires and one green-yellow wire. I have a Lincoln 225 AC welder

The two gray wires are the Hot wires and the green-yellow is a ground/neutral wire. I hope this helps please rate if the answer helps in any way. Good Luck and have a great weekend.

Need the diagram for an old welder, ac/dc 125/225 need to find out how to hook the fan up

Usually the fan if it is, 112/225V. It simply connects across the Line, Phase to neutral, but AFTER the mains switch. So that it is "On" only after the Power has been switched on.

What gage should the input wire be? I got this welder used and the input power wire is #12-3. Is that correct?

This is a 220v welder and input is high power…12/3 does not sound good to me when I am working with anything over 12v LOL...y for 220/230v do not use the same wiring as the one was on but better I will go lower to 8/3 “safe than sorry” …Let me know if that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so I can keep providing this service to everyone and improve on it. God bless
