I tried to burn a cd but it said reconnect the burner

Did the burner work properly previously recently? Will the burner run a CD when you're not trying to burn? Were you tampering with the inside of your computer recently? (If so, make sure all wiring is connected). Have you tried to disconnect your modem, turn off your virus checker and burn again? So many possibilities depending on what you were doing, what you were trying to burn, and which program you were trying to use.

hi,
check whether your burner is properly connected or not.

Problem with DVD CD Burner

If you made sure that the CD / DVD is brand new (never tried to burn with). Then try reconnecting drive. Disconnect power cord. Open PC and reconnect IDE (ribbon) or SATA (red) cable.

My burner says that its burning to the cd but then the cd ends up still been blank

hello sir,
Try to burn the same Cd's in some of your friends computer and see if that works or not cause you would then be knowing that it is your burner which is at fault. Or else try disconnecting and reconnecting the cables of the Cd writer and also uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for it and see if that can work. If it is under warranty then try to replace it.
Godbless!

My dvd burner works ok, and my cd drive will play cd's but I can no longer burn cd's. I've not tried to burn a cd for quite some time, so I don't know when it stopped working. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp...

maybe your dvd burner got malfunction, go try to burn another one, if it doesnt burn a cd/dvd, then its time for you to buy a new one, or if there is an update for your dvd burner then download it and try to patch/update it, if not then buy another one.

FYI
all dvd movie take 2-3 hrs to burn (some even 4 hrs..depends on the lenght)...and for the future never just turn off any data transfering devices....not even your pc when windows is updating....

Can't burn pass over 78 min on my burner

CDs can only store 800 Mb, which is exactly 78 minutes. If you need to burn more data than that onto a disk then you will need to burn DVDs with a DVD burner.
Please rate, Thanks!

you may not install the proper drivers of your burner, install it again and use some other burner application like nero cd burner etc.
