Toshiba qosmio f45-av411 how do i reset to factory settings

How do i reset my Toshiba qosmio f45-av411 to factory settings to make everything functional again. I have so many problems to list. One day after a while of my nonfunctioning laptop, I decided to play around to see if i can fix it. I tried making many boot cds from online, nothing would work to get past my windows error, even the recovery disks had errors. I took to repair and they aid ill need a new hard drive. Im waiting for that to come in the mail soon. Before i also tried to reinstall windows vista with a disk i dowloaded from the internet but nothing works to get past windows installation error (ox7e)

But the main reason i want to reset is because my mouse, touchpad, fingerprint reader and the lights(symbols for the battery, power, plug, drive, wireless, etc) above the optimal disk drive, ALL DO NOT WORK. BUTTTTTTTT, One day before i had my laptop checked for repair , I did something even weirder and the mouse worked, and those lights came onBut Is there a way I can reset everything, so it all can work again well.

P.S.-In case you are wondering why the computer repair store didnt fix part of my problem. I didnt want to pay nearly $300 for a repair if i can find a cheaper solution.

I called Toshiba about the Q-F45. My BIOS seems to have crapped out when I lost power during a reboot. The CSR said that there was a BIOS reset button on the motherboard labeled BIOS. I've disassembled the laptop, but I can't find that button. I can see the EEPROM battery (my assumption) soldered into the board, but no button. Anyone know of a button? ahughes@san.rr.com.

So, indeed, I followed these instructions to take the laptop apart:http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/To... I was not able to find a reset button, so I unsoldered the EEPROM backup battery (the instructions on page 3 show the battery and call it the "RTC (CMOS Battery". For good measure, while I had the battery off, I shorted the two pads on the board where the battery goes (please don't make a mistake and short the battery. That's a fatal error.) 8-O I waited a full 10 minutes with the battery disconnected in case the EEPROM had any internal capacitance. Then I soldered the battery back and, put the laptop together, and the BIOS was back in operation. Obviously, you have to set the date and time and any customer BIOS settings you'd made.

There is no magic button that i know of that fixes those faults Returning it to factory defaults doesn;t reinstate broken parts. To me it sounds like a board fault and that some jiggling you did temporarily caused it to make contact for a while. It could be a loose cable connecting the problem components to the main board, it could even be a cracked M/Board. It would have to be opened to check for that. I don't advise you to try it either as many before you have ventured into laptops and never been able to get them back together again.

Putting a new disk in sounds to me to be a waste of money on a machine that has so many problems.
If the unit is so valuable to you I would be biting the bullet and having it repaired properly, not mucking around hoping you get it right by a fluke, that way you will end up spending more thanj $300.
You can buy a new Toshibt Satellite Pro for $400 after cashback. So why persist with a dying machine with no warranty and a 100 problems?

I need to reset the bios on my toshiba qosmio f45-av412 please help1

To reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

Have a Toshiba Qosmio F45-AV411 and downloaded windows 7 last night. worked fine then I put comp in to sleep mode when I tried to turn on today looks like it is booting up and then goes to a black screen...

Try to boot up the computer using safe mode first. Keep on tapping the F8 key the moment you turn on the computer. If your computer wont boot to safe mode then you need to re-install windows 7.

Crashed error 03-FFFF-OOOO

if that error occurs while attempting the recovery, typically it indicates a read write error on the hard drive. replace the hard drive and see if the recovery finishes.

(although i have only seen this problem with failing hard drives)
