My dishwasher makes the sound like it wants to start but doesn't. I had this problem about 4 years ago but the repair man would not allow me to see what he did. It took him all of 30 seconds to do something under the front of the dishwasher. I do not have the money to call the repair man again. Please help. I have a ge dishwasher.

You my have allowed your dishwasher to sit for a while. The seals in the motor and the pump can get frozen. Sometimes high minerals in the water can stick the seals together not allowing the motor to run and it hums.

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Remove access panel.
  3. Reach in with your hand and turn the cooling fan blade until it breaks free and turns smoothly.
  4. If this problem keeps on recurring, the motor and pump assembly needs replacement.

Hi, we have a Bosch SHU53EO6UC/14 dishwasher. It is getting stuck in wash and isn't advancing. We think it may be the timer but there are lots of references to running a test program. Unfortunately...

My Bosch DW SHU5302 also got stuck during a cycle and ran and ran. Turns out this is a known problem with these DW's. The problem is that a trace on the main board burns off that controls the heater. If the heater doesn't come on then the DW keeps running waiting for the water to heat up. Re-soldering this trace fixes this problem. If you get a repair guy out, he will only change the board. They are not allowed to re-solder which doesn't fix the problem for long as the same trace will burn off. Did this about 8 years ago and it is still fine.

Our LG is only a couple years old and was very quiet at first. It has started making a very loud groaning noise when the water is spraying. Is it a pump going out?

Hi

In Australia I have seen similar problems with some recent models of LG dishwashers. Not sure if the ones sold in the US are any different.
One common problem I have seen with LG wash pumps from dishwashers which were sold 2-4 years ago, is that the motor becomes noisy after some time. The replacement motors which I have ordered is a different one and therefore revised as the predesessor was not reliable. The replacement motor has a different mounting bracket as well.
They are fairly cheap, but to change them is very difficult. Best to get a repairer as the machine needs to be thoroughly dismantled to allow you to get to the wash pump.

Just bought a 4 year old maytag 300 quiet series and hooked it up all front buttons light up when you push what you want but will not fill with water. Goes to cycle where water should be spraying around...

Sounds like an internal timer malfunction.
Maytag Customer Service: 1 (800) 344-1274 U.S.
Try to find your model # and serial number if not out of warranty before called.
It sounds as if your machine needs to be inspected by a service repair agent in your area. Maytag can lead you to an authorized local repair man.

Dishwasher wan't fill with water

The water valve may look fine but the solenoid may not be opening to allow water in. You said that everything else works fine except no water supply to the dishwasher. This sounds like a bad soleniod valve. Check for continuity on the valve with an ohms meter after you start it. Be careful.

I had the same problem. Repairman replaced flat gasket on the sump cover. Also replaced lower arm and that helped too.

Got much noisier over time

Hello Hunting2000 the noise could be several things. If you heard what is water hitting against the inner door, try aranging the dishes so that the water is hitting the dishes and not the door. I assume however this isn't the noise you are talking about. Sometimes over time the wash arms themselves will start to make noise. This is from wear. Yes less than a year sounds like a short time. This could have been there from the start. I would call Bosch Customer Support and see if they will pay for a 2nd opion. This well could be the wash arms causing this. Espically the top one not sealing proper and allowing water to hit the front. Hope this helps.
