GE Harmony no heat, gas isnt turning on when ignitor glows on

I have a GE Harmony which is not drying my clothes. It runs from start to finish with no error codes as if nothing was wrong. I open the dryer after running for a few minutes and its completely cold inside so I can tell that no heat is being supplied... I checked the back of the drying and the blower motor is running just fine. It seems to me that the gas valve just isnt opening when the dryer is turned on. That is my self diagnosis, however I need to know if this is actually the problem or if it is something else and what I should do to test to find out where the problem is. If it is the gas valve.. how do i replace or is it replaceable.. or should i just concider buying a new one at this point. Thank you and please help..

I notice that the ignitor glows for like 30 seconds at a time then goes slowely goes out.. then about a minute later it starts up again and glows for 30 seconds then slowely goes out.. It seems like the ignitor is fine, its trying to light and there is no gas smell whatsoever.

I also have this magical problem (GE model DPGT750GC1PL). The mainboard does not send the signal to DC gas valve 2. Flame detector is new ignitior is new Thermostat safety switches test closed(Good). The mainboard seems to be a twisted array of delicately balanced AC circuitry designed by a madman. Does anyone know where I can get the mainboard schematic. I did have some temporary improvement when I replaces a high resistance door switch but it was not the underlying cause.

Not the gas valve. the flame is not getting lit.
The electronic ignition is not heating up.
Do you notice the igniter is no longer glowing?
It must be replaced.

Then it is the automatic gas valve. The spring may be stuck.

or the thermocouple sensor may be out of alignment. The thermocouple senses if the ignitor is hot then it sends the "hot enough" signal to the automatic gas valve.

    1. Not the ignitor - it is ok

    2. Check the thermocouple sensor - looks like a bare copper wire that virtually touches the ignitor. The thermocouple needs to be positioned to sense the ignitor's heat.

    3. The automatic gas valve is the next thing it could be.

Check for power at the gas valve solenoid. The solenoid coil may be bad, or the complete valve. Solenoid coil can be replaced.

GE Profile Harmony Gas Dryer not heating/drying clothes.

let me ask you this does the ignitor glow orange but no flame when you have no heat?usually on a gas dryer if at first you have heat and then after 10 to 30 minutes no heat it's usually the gas coils located on top of the gas valve, common problem, after the coils cool down they will work again, that dryer is kind of complicated to work on seeing how it does have two motors in it but you should be able to get at the gas coils,if you send the model number i can look it up for you.but it sounds like you have bad gas coils, the only way to tell is run the dryer, when the heat stops working look at the ignitor,if it glows orange and the flame doesn't ignite you have bad gas coils.

Ge gas dryer heats but doesnt dry

if the flame is lighting you have lint blocking the air flow either in the dryer or in the vent line, also if you have a flame for the first 10 to 20 minutes and then the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils are bad they can work for the first 10 to 20 minutes until the coils get hot and then they fail and you'll see the ignitor glowing orange but no flame, bad gas coils.then when the coils cool down they can work again.hope this helps.you can try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and see if the flame stays on,if lint is blocking the air from blowing out the flame won't stay lit long enough to dry the clothes.

Maytag gas dryer runs but does not heat

If yo smelled gas then the ignitor may not be working.
First thing to check is the ignitor underneath the drum. (You have to open the panel to see it)  It should glow shortly after the dryer starts, then the flame starts and the ignitor shuts off.  If the ignitor does not glow then the thermostat is bad.  If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the gas valve coils may have to be replaced.   If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.
