Projector not recieving input signal

I have an HP-070 multimedia projector which was working fine for the first few months. NOW it is not recieving info from either my lap top via VGA or my DVD player via AV.

I cant really undersatnd the problem. The cables are fine. The lamp and picture are fine (i get a clear message that it is getting no signal.) Typically this was a new projector I got from ebay but i now realise has no proper company name, made in China. HP-070 seems to be made by the same company that makes 'oley', 'ally' and 'multimax' projectors.

I dont know if you have any suggestions. I would be very grateful for any help.

Re: projector not recieving input signal

One other thing to check is that if you are using a laptop (or other computer) make sure the resolution is not set too high. Older projectors especially cannot "understand" higher res settings. 1024 x 768 should be your starting pointand then experiment with higher resolutions.

Bad color on input, fine on test pattern

If you know your source signal is good, try changing your input cable. If the problem still exists there may be a problem with the signal input board. Try various inputs VGA, composite video if you can

Hi 1ivans

I would suggest that you should firstly try another DVI cable.

If this doesn't work , then the comms board will most probably need replacement.

Hi there

First try to bypass the box and put signal directly into the Projector from the source - i.e. DVD Player

If the signal still doesn't pick up , try using a different cable.

If the problem is solved , then your Converter Box is faulty.

If the problem still occurs then you might have a faulty Mainboard - as all the inputs on this Projector is situated directly on the Mainboard.

Hope this will help you !

No input detected on projector

it sounds like the A/V reciever does not upconvert the component signal to HDMI. Not many do. The Marantz recievers will (SR6001, SR8001, etc..). Also bear in mind that HDMI cables are finicky and may require amplification over a few meters long.
