Double check and make sure you have not deactivated the wireless function. Most laptops have a function key in combination with an fkey that will turn on and off the wireless, check your users manual for the specific key function, if you do not have the manual check the web site of the MFG for one. Good luck

I need a wireless driver for my 2wire1800hg for a gateway

I don't think you need a wireless driver. Instead inter http://home/ at the top of your Internet browser ( adress bar ). Press the Enter key on your keyboard. On the new screen click on the Home Network tab. On the that new screen look under Status at a Glance. Look to the right of the word Wireless. If it says ENABLE, it wants you to click on it to turn on the wireless feature of your modem. When you ckick on ENABLE, it turns on wireless like turning on a light bulb with a wall switch. That ENABLE button will change to DISABLE incase you want to turn it off latter.

Wireless LAN

You can tell if its the driver by going into Device manager. Start>right click on My Computer>click on Manage>then find device manager in the left plane window. Look down the list of hardware and find network adapter. Click on the plus sign and it should show you are card with 802.1xx on it, that's your wireless lan card, if there is a yellow, red or black symbol next to it then just right click on it and choose :"reinstall driver" see if that helps. If everything looks fine then let me know there is one more true way to check if it is your wireless card or something else. If you have any questions let me know. Pls rate this solution.

Can get wireless card to work in new computer

you need to open the computer and remove the wireless card (the computer must be off of course) located on one side of the card will be a sticker with the model number. write down that number and go to the linksys website and then support and type in the model number you wrote down in the search bar and it will take you to the proper drivers. i think you have a WMP54G card BTW here check out this site and see if your card looks like this http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WMP54G

Acer Aspire 3620 wireless lan keeps shutting down my system.

This issue arise when there is conflict between drivers the best we can do is to open device manager click on Vien and then select show hidden deivces and disable every driver except your wireless adapter and see if it works.

Thank you please revert back for any clarification.

If the computer came new with Vista, the hardware could have been designed for Vista only. You will probably have trouble finding XP drivers for it.
