OK.... so what youre saying is that the FILE that you refer to with no other discriptions or reference to location is corrupted therefore i would presume that you are saying that the Flash Drive i am trying to download M/Office/2007Pro to is CORRUPTED!! ??? and this means that if i want to download the NEWLY opened McrsftOffice2007Professional Program to an external driver i will need to get a New Flash Drive! The Fash drive i have currently has had the .cab folder removed before in error and then copied back to it. This could have resulted in something going wrong with the Flash drive, YES??

ps I'm NOT shouting btw, I use Caps for emphasis... ! I really am rather polite :)

    cheers

Hi,

This Refers to the Fact that the File is Corrupted. There might be many reasons for the same like initial file might be the corrupted one, any file missing or delete, virus etc.

The only solution is to download the file again and then it would fix the issue.

If problem persists, let me know.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

Bingo!! I have seen many cases where the file is corrupted and people are getting this message. So, before we try to troubleshoot all round the world, i wanted to make sure that the file should not be corrupted.

There can be 3 possibilities that we need to avoid :-

    1. Flash Drive should not be Bad

    2. The Original source should not be corrupted. There might be a chance that there is nothing wrong with the Flash Drive ( which i assume, as it's Very rare ), the Original file might be corrupted. That's the reason again after downloading the file, we are getting the same message.

    3. Data in this Flash drive might be corrupted.

So, first Use another Flash Drive,Download the file from some other source to Flash Drive and then use it.

    Let me know once done!!

    Thanks.

Attempting to install microsoft office professional and during installation the program say that it cannot find pror.WW/prorWW.cab browse to a valid installation source.

Try Manually installing the software. copy the content of the disc on to an empty folder then run the installer from that folder. usually this problem is caused by a damaged disc or the disc reader is having a hard time reading the disc.

Sounds like the DVD may be a bit scratched, or the lens is dirty.  Try the following:
  1. Buy a laser lens cleaner (generic audio one will do fine, a couple of bucks from a cheap shop) and run it through your computer.
  2. Try the install again.  If it still doesn't work, copy the contents of the DVD to a folder on your computer and try running setup from there.  This has worked for other people before.

Cab file error

This is more than likely a software....not hardware....problem. In the install routine (if I remember correctly) you have the ability to point to a location where the cab / file is. To find the exact location just insert your cd and use Windows explorer to find it. Once found do the install and when prompted point it at the file on the cd....You can also copy the cd to your hard drive and initiate the install from there....it's faster. Tango.
