I just went through this with my Kenmore dishwasher, if you look in your manual (mine says: The dishwasher has malfunctioned. Call for service to check heater circuit:, DON'T call for service, I made that mistake and would up being asked to give my credit card # for $200., then a service tech would come to my home, did all that, HE NEVER SHOWED UP, but reported in that he attempted and no one was home, "garbage", so I got my answer right here on this site.
1. Open door
2. Press Normal Wash
3. Press Hi-Temp
4. repeat steps 2 and 3 a multiple of times until all lights come on.
Close door.
This fixed mine.
The advise I was given was to reset the default by performing the steps listed above.

it is not pumping out the water, your drain hose is blocked, or the pipe the hose goes into is blocked. check all pipes and clear the blockage.

Water sits in bottom

If water does not drain at all then the drain pump could be blocked.
If only a little water is remaining but cycle is complete, then this is normal.
However, do check the kitchen drain is clear and you do not have a garbage disposer (insinkerator) in sink which is full. Normally empty it before you start the dishwasher.
Do you get any alarms (lights flashing etc)

The normal and economy lights are blinking and cannot get to wash through a full cycle. water is in the bottom of the washer

You will have to check if the dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle or wash cycle.

The normal and economy lights flashing means there is flooding in the unit.

Reset the unit by pressing START button for 4 secs. If the flashing does not stop then you have to call the technician. There may be a leakage which is causing the flood switch to activate.

Inlet/ drain light keeps flashing

You have a leak and the bottom pan is full of water. You can remove the cover at the bottom front of the dishwasher and see if the bottom pan is filled with water.
