Question about Kohler CH25 PA-CH730-0040 Command Gasoline Engine
Changed plug. mech said it was water in gas. he changed plug came back was blowing fuses. he said ignition wire was damaged. came back ran breifly same problem. he finds furniture stuffing from mice and says that was choking it from getting air. comes back a third time. cut 1/2 my lawn starts backfiring and dies. now wont run for more than 30 seconds. seems like a electrical problem to me can any one help?
Check that the keyway for the flywheel to the crankshaft hasn't sheared. This is a common problem that throws timing very far off causing backfire and no-starts.

It's more likely that you simply have a blown head gasket, that a sheared key on a riding mower, since the engine turns belts and is not directly attached to anything. Unless this genius mechanic removed the flywheel and reinstalled it with an air impact gun, in which case you probably DO have a sheared key, but id have a DIFFERENT shop do a compression, then a leak-down test.
