Re: Loud Noise

Have you tried taking the cover off and cleaning it, or take the roller off and make sure nothing is in the roller.

Kirby g6 will not pic up dirt. Belt is on and bag

check for blockage or impeller if vacum makes loud noise the impeller is the part that gives it suction

Loud 'drilling' noise from motor area when turned on.

Sounds like bad bushings/bearings in the motor -- need to replace them.

Kirby G4 stopped working

maybe the impeller broke, that is the most common reason for '' loud noise''....then you must remember that the kiby will not switch on [ all G models ] if the bag and the front nozzle is not properly attached.....

My Kirby G3 makes a loud, high pitch whistle with the hose

I would say you either have something stuck on the impeller or there is a piece of paper or something stuck inside the hose. its not clogging the hose but when the air passes by it. It is making that noise. If you find nothing you may need a repair. May have a bad bearing in the motor. Actually you can also try inspecting the brush on the head. It removes easily from vacuum and should spin freely and quietly.

Kirby making clicking noise

In the middle of vacuuming my car out, my Kirby Sentria began making a loud clicking noise, sounds like it's coming from the motor. It's never done this before. I checked for debris in the fan and removed the bag and checked there too. The vacuum still works, just not sure if I should continue to use it.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The clicking noise sound s to me that it is coming from the motor like you said and I am not sure how new the Kirby vacuum is, but if it is still under a factory warranty it is a good idea to have Kirby take a look @ the vacuum because it could be the fan, carbon brushes or something could be hitting the armature making a clicking sound and if it is the armature then I would get it check ASAP. Began making loud squealing noise

sorry thats probablly the transmission going out it could be the main unit itself, if thats the case time for a whole new trans, but sometimes its the mechanism that turns the trans off and on, and those parts can be replaced independantly from the transmission iself but you would have to tear the whole thing apart to get it out but more importantly back in. a local vac shop with more than five years experience should be able to fix it.
