Question about HP Photosmart D7260 Printer

Installed new cartridge as indicated, and tried to print. GOt error message "Ink System Failure" error Oxc18a0101 Turned power off and on again, but same message.

    Only one I found was different printer. Don't have those keys on the D7260 printer, so can't do the process. Unless I am misunderstanding the instructions.

The problem is caused by air in the ink feed tubes and the guide shows you have to do a purge on the ink feed lines. You should be back printing in less than 10 minutes.

Printing error message OxC18a050a unable to print

This is the error message which refers to ink system failure, printer shows this message when the ink system of the printer would not allow you to printer

Please follow the the steps given below
Make sure that the printer's power cord is connected to the walljack (Avoid if there is any surge protector or extension cord) Take out all the ink cartridges Take a clean cloth, dampen it in distilled water and with that cloth clean copper contacts of the cartridges firmly Let them dry for 2 minutes Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer while printer is turned on (After closing all the doors that are open and also keep the cartridges out) After 2 minutes, plug in the power cable Put the ink cartridges in one by one, then close all the doors again Printer would start going through some maintence and then would start aligning the ink cartridges All the best!! Changed all the ink - all new - still makes a rachet sound and shows Error Oxc18a0106 - will not print - what do we do now to have it print

Printer wont print


this is a complicated error message so if the printer is in warranty immidiately contact hp or even if the printer is in warranty call hp you will get the support if you bought geniun ink cartridges how ever you can once try the following step Ink system failure is generally followed by an 0xc0...... error code and the trouble shooting is different for different error code so please follow this simple trouble shooting and even if the printer is not working then please specify the exact error code

Ink sys failure error message


Hi,

Try the following steps and check if it resolves the above error.

1. Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on.
2. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges.
3. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and the wall socket, then wait for one minute.
5. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.
6. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges.
7. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page.
8. Print a Self Test to verify product is functional.
9. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print from the computer.

Try resetting the printer:

1- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
2- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
3- Disconnect,by pulling gently, both white flat ribbon cables off the main circuit board.
4- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you get a error message and push "Ok".
5- Unplug power source.
6- Reconnect the flat ribbon cables by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit board.
7- Plug in power source and turn printer on.

i had exactly this error message. Rang HP. They said it was a hardware failure, they couldn't fix over phone, would cost 2x cost of new printer to fix, but they offered me 20% discount on new printer if ordered over the phone.

But with some fiddling, problem now resolved. Here's what I did:

- press Red Eye Removal and Print Photos button together
- goes to Mfg Commands -> Enter Special Keys Combo. Press OK
- uaiux Support page (some code) -> click right arrow key until you get to System Configuration Menu - click oK
- should say hardware failure status - click OK
- says hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear
- I clicked OK on this and system reset itself and problem was solved

Try the following reset:

Hold the OK and the Help button at the same time. While holding them down, plugthe power in. Continue to hold both buttons until the unit shut off.
After shutting down, release both buttons and power on the printer.

Alternatively follow instructions on this document from HP.

Hi,

Ink System Failure is a Hardware Issue, which indicates that the Ink Delivery system failed to initialize.

I suggest you to perform the below the troubleshooting steps, if it doesnt fixes, then the printer need to be serviced or replaced.

1.Turn OFF the printer, unplug the power cable and the USB from the printer.Then Press and Hold the ON/OFF button for 1 minute and then reconnect the cables and try again.If it doesnt fixes, goto next step.

2.Remove the ink cartridges, Turn the printer OFF and Unplug all the cables from the back of the printer.Connect the Printer directly to the wall outlet.Turn it on and wait until u get a prompt to insert the ink cartridges.If it didnt work, go to step 3.

3.Remove the ink cartridges again and close the access door.Disconnect the power cable while the printer is ON.Now Press and Hold the OK and CANCEL button.While Holding the OK and CANCEL button insert the power cable and continue holding the button until u get a message "NVM Reset" or untill the printer goes OFF.Then release the buttons and press ON/OFF button.

4.If you still get the same error, then the printer needs to be serviced.
