I had the same problem with my camcorder. I removed the battery for about 3 days and when i turned it back on it worked. is there a battery in camera to keep the time and date? maybe it is in safe mode and by removing power for long enough it will reset itself. paul sa

hi sir just two things to do first 1- restore to factory setings from the menu and check if it is solved 2- if not just try to see does the knub is in its reguler state if yes so you need to replace it

SOURCE: digital camcorder problem
there a short line to the carbon wire of the function switch.....unfold the wire to loose the fold....and clean the contact of the wire using a pencil eraser slowly
