Hello Drdean825,

I understand that you are having a problem with your Refridgerator. The problem is that your unit is not cooling/freezing. I have a tip that you can follow that will show you how to check the mechanical side of your Maytag Refrigerator. If after you follow this tip you can not find what is wrong with the unit you can repost with make and model of your unit.

Refridgerator problem

Not sure about your model, but most of these style side by side refridgerators use the cold air from the freezer to cool the refridgerator. Sounds like your "flapper" valve is broken. At the top left in the refridgerator there should be plastic shroud. Remove it and your flapper valve should be under it. You will most likely find the flap broken off of it. You may have success using epoxy to glue it or you may have to replace the valve assembly.
Good luck.

My Maytag side by side freezer/refrigirator MODEL MSD 2554AR is having ice frozen at the botton of the freezer basket. This later melts and form water on the floor of my kitchen.

Ukoni, the drain tube for the defrost is frozen over or clogged. When the unit goes into defrost the water is running out through the front instead of down the drain tube. You can try to pour some real hot water with a baster to clear the tube. Remove the lower basket and at the bottom of the freezer panel in back is where the drain line is located. Catriver.
