Following are error display codes for GE airconditioner:---
Display Codes:
E1 or EP error:---- Automatic filter clean reminder.
Turn the air conditioner OFF and unplug it. NOTE: The air conditioner must be unplugged for the automatic filter clean timer to reset.

My ge AEW18DMG1 window unit shows an error code EP. What does it mean?

GE EP code is main compressor sensor.
Check damage to the temperature sensor
Sensor Cable left side yellow.

My airco got visited by a rat and damaged the wiring.
Cut it rejoined and code 32 changed into temperature.
You need the sensor. Just joining the cables will issue 99 and it will cut off and change into 32
You need a working sensor.

When I cool the room it doesn't drop to the temperature I have it set to but a few degrees celcius higher. Is that normal? I honestly never checked on my old unit but this one doesn't seem to feel as cool.

there is suppose to be 15--20* temp. different on the air supply & return air temp.Over 20* and the coil or the filter is plugged up. Below 13*--anf the unit is not charged properly.

Housesitting. RTH111B model. I cannot keep the

That is a NONprogramable T-stat. There is no program to overide, therefore there is no need for a "hold" option. To set the temp, place the switch on the side marked

COOL
OFF
HEAT

to the desired setting, and push the up down arrows on the front until the display shows 80.

The DISPLAY will revert back to the current room temperature within a few seconds, and will keep the unit on until it reaches the desired temp.

The set temperature remains at 80, it just shows the current room temp.

Wash out outside coil from time to time. This is the most over looked part of window units. Take care not to spray water directly into fan motor. If not real humid in house check temp coming out of ac inside and make sure filter and coil are clean. run on high speed and the air should have good force. 20 to 30 degree temp drop of room temp should be about right. Much depend on outside temp and humidity and indoor humidity plus insulation factor of area. How many people are in the area and if you keep unit on day and night .
