Question about Gateway 400SD4 Notebook
The Power Button is sticking use some to keep button it depressed in and plug in a external monitor put the lid down just enough to activate the external monitor.
if you have orange indicator light on along side the power button
you need to go into the bios and calibrate the battery this might resolve your problem.

You should try plugging in an external CRT or LCD monitor. Most laptops will automatically enable this port when you connect a monitor and reboot, but you may need to hit some combination of keys on the laptop if you don't see anything.
You should try this to see if the laptop is running properly other than the internal LCD or VGA hardware.
