Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

Won't open It is actually a 1GB not 2 but the rest is the same. When I put the flash drive into the USB there is a momentary light flash and then nothing. Other flash drives I have work perfectly in the same USB.

Re: Won't open

No..there's actually two possible solutions you can try if your storage drive appears to be corrupted on your system.

First, try it on another system, preferrably one that runs with XP. It might be able to let you read and open your drive's content there. I've got some issues getting my SanDisk Cruzer Micro (and another) to work on Vista, but they work fine on my laptop running on Windows XP.

If this does not work, it may be time to try some of the available 'file recovery' softwares. There are many on the internet that you can search for. may be a good one to consider. Look for a file recovery software that works for flash drives. Although your system cannot automatically read your drive's content when you plug it in, such softwares could help you with recovering those files and folders. Good luck!

Re: Won't open

Im sorry to say from what you have said that it sounds like the flash storage is corrupt. You could try it on someone elses computer just to be sure but it should work if others do.

If you still have your receipt and it's less than a year old take it back the shop..

hope this is some help

Why my flash usb is don't tell me the files

try plugging your flash drive into a usb port then going into my computer and opening the appropriate drive letter for the flash drive.

You can also put a shortcut to the flash drive on your desktop and simply open it to see what is actually on your flash drive.

You can also use windows explorer and open up your flash drive icon and see a listing of what is on it.

Your problem may be that the flash drive has its own installation program and it has possibly been wiped or cleared accidently.

How do you use a flash drive on the computar

Install the USB Flash Drive:
Plug the USB flash drive into a free USB port on your laptop (it is an approximately 1/2" slot, either on the side or back of the laptop).
Windows XP operating system should recognize it. It may ask you what you want to do with it. Select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" and click OK.
Operating system should assign it a drive letter (see the title of the Windows Explorer window that opens).

Use the USB Flash Drive:
In Windows Explorer, click Folders button on the menu bar to show the installed drives on the left pane of the screen.
To copy a file from c:\ (hard drive) to flash drive:
Find the file you wish to copy on the c:\ drive.
Right-click it and select Copy.
Right-click the location on the new drive where you wish to paste the file, and select Paste.
(File should now appear in desired location.)

Hope you find this useful, if you have any more questions, just leave a comment and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Although there are a couple free solutions they generally just show you if the software is recoverable, then ask for money before actually recovering any for you. As well in order to use the software the drive would have to be running, light on and at least showing up in your device manager if not in my computer.

You will most likely require the help of a pro to retrieve your files. Comment back with your country and city and I will be happy to recommend an appropriate facility.
