Ok everyone, I have a ipod nano 3G and the screen just went blank or should I say just silver. I could still download stuff on it and I could hear it playing, but nothing but silver screen. I tried EVERYTHING that everyone is saying to do. Nothing worked, so I decided since the warranty was up anyway, to take it apart to see if anything was going on inside. I guess I was resorting to the fact that I need a new screen like a lot of people were saying. As I started to do that, I noticed that I was bending it and it would never look the same if I did that so I thought, What the heck." and I threw it on the ground. I was blown away when it started working again!! I'm not making this up, I didn't even scratch or hurt the ipod because it was on a thin carpet on a wood floor. I guess it just needed to be jarred. Who knows, but it's still working to this day. So after all the technical procedures I went through all I had to do was throw it!! I had to laugh. I should start my own repair business!

Why is my itrip screen blank?

The battery is probably too flat to be recharged via normal methods, you need to get a new battery, or take the old one out and charge it with a higher power charger.

Have Apple iPod Nano 8GB. Turned it off and can not turn it back on. Even when I plug it into a charger the screen is blank.

Try pressing and holding the MENU and center/select button at the same time. This will reset your Ipod (your files don't get deleted), and hopefully you'll see the apple logo as the screen starts up.

If you can still hear the clicking while you use the wheel, but cannot see anything, there is a good chance your screen could be bad.

My apple ipod nano 8gb 3rd generation's screen went black

It probably hangs on you, right? I get that problem on my silver 3rd gen nano when i jog. What i do is press the menu button and the middle circle button at the same time, and it'll restart the whole thing. Make sure you unlock it (bottom next to charger port, make sure it's white, not red) first. You'll see the apple screen as it starts back up and it'll go to the main menu. I run a lot so maybe it got jarred or something on mine. I hope that's all it is, or it might be a static problem. That I'm not helpful with. :| Good luck.

OH and it won't delete your songs so no worries on that.

Your screen is probably damaged, and will need to be replaced, but try these:

The 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with iPod nano. Try
these steps one at a time until your issue is resolved. If one of the following doesn’t
help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer, and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iTunes software from the latest version on the web.
â Restore iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod nano Software” on page 50.
