I removed some software from my laptop, mostly tool bars and stuff like that i did not need. When I restarted the machine, a box appeared that mentioned something about not having or not finding sound cards. Since then, any sound of the computer, r any doc using the media player, has no sound what so ever.
What can I do?
-   i reformat the laptop, then after that no sounds appear after installation-   Guest

Well, I specified it on my original post, but here it is again: my laptop is an Acer Aspire 1640Z. I did not added a special sound card to the laptop. It's the one that it originally came with. Thaks
You can start by adding a comment and specifying the manufacturer and model of your computer unless you added a special sound card then we will need the manufacturer and model of the sound card

On my Compac Presario R3000, the L.E.D.'s that indicate caps, wifi, touch pad, and number lock either light dim or are out most of the time, if i tap lightly next to the touch pad they come on bright for a while, where can i get info on the power path for these lights, i know how to disassemble and solder etc. I am a tech who repairs small SMD circuits. I have looked internally for a broken connection and haven't found it. Thanks, Lee P.S. Ya, fixed the power jack a few times, crummy design!
