I suspect you probably have a bad LED assembly. It could be either the red, green or blue that is bad and give you the same symptom. The problem is locating parts for it as it looks like the light engine is no longer available. I would have a technician look at the TV to verify this and what parts are needed for repair.
The problem is the digital module is not booting up. It will have be pulled and repaired. We do this job in the home and depending on where you live the repair cost is between $200 - $300. That set is well worth the repair cost.
change the 4 100uf capacitors on the DM board. You will need the service manual to get the set apart as its technical. But with the service manual and take notes you should be able to repair it. But the service manual for that chassis is mandatory or you will never get the chassis out without alot of trouble. Heres a link where you can get the manual emailed to you. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
My Mitsubishi WS-73713 had the same blinking green timer light problem and would not turn on. I tried the reset button and unplugging power to no avail. I found that by simultaneously holding down the remote control "power" button and "volume" button for about 30 seconds the blinking light would go out and a solid green light would come on. Even though the solid green light came on the unit would still not power up. After doing this several times however the unit did finally power up in a normal mode and appears to be working again. It's worth trying before calling in for an expensive repair. PS - From here on out I'm sticking with SONY or Toshiba sets which have given be great service.
