History: 2 days ago the battery light came on. Car ran fine that evening. The next morning. The tach stopped working. a minute later the speedometer stopped working. Then, another minute later, the car...

Replacing the fuse the first time was the right move, becuase it could have been a fluke that it blew. Replacing it again and again was not! You should have found out EVERYTHING that the #2 fuse controlled and verified that the components weren't pulling excessive amperage (shorted condition). By replacing the fuse over and over, you might have made the problem worse by subjecting good components to something that was shorted.

BTW next time pick the oldest guy at autozone to help you, if the counter help knew their stuff they would have told you the same thing I just did!

I have a new Surebonder rechargeable glue gun. I was gluing a large pc. and rushed to get another stick and it would not feed by pulling the trigger, There was one glue stick (partial) still in gun, but...

it sound like the charge ran down, recharable glue guns are not typically recomended for large project becuase heating elements run down batteries very quickly. to get the stick out of your gun, you will need to fully charge it and then after that turn it on and when its warm pull the trigger and the glue should once again come out, For large project I would recommend you purchase a wired (plug in the wall) type glue gun. Thanks for you question

Ipod Touch Battery

Your battery is fu.k.d up.  This thing ships with half a charge and your supposed to fully charge it before first using it.  Even though every genius out there will say that these batteries don't retain memory charge.  They are wrong.  You have set your battery memory to say full when it is only 1/4 fully charged.  Take the thing back to the store and exchange it for a new one if your within your 30 day window.  Take the thing back to the Apple store and exchange it out for a shiny new one if your within your 1 year window.  You don't need a receipt at the Apple store, cause they can just look on the back of the ipod and type in the serial #.  That tells them if the ipod was sold within the year or not.  Apple won't exchange the thing out if you dropped it hard or exposed the thing to liquids.

If it is a NEW unit then you should allow it to charge FULLY as recomended in the manual before use.

If you did that and it still does not work but is under warranty you should consider taking it back for an exchange

If however it is an older unit then the battery may well need replacement

A good source of " NEW" parts can be found on ebay at exceptional prices. For most tom toms it is not a difficult task if you feel competant.

You did not mention the model which makes things a little harder to fully diagnose.

The a/c will not cool, it will not take a charge. the clutch was kicking in and out until i release some of the system pressure. It will not engage and the system will not receive a charge.

I am assuming it has 134a. If you are trying to charge it yourself with those cheapie cans with the hose on them. They will charge but very slow, EXTREMELY slow sometimes essentally not charging the system. I am an SAE certified AC tech. I recomend getting a shop that is certified to charge it. If you want to try again. You now have too little of a charge to enguage the clutch. Yous should precharge what you can into the system. If you can charge it fast enough you can overide the pressure switch with a paper clip. The biger lines are the low side. The pressure switch is on the low side and usually on the passenger side. It will be the only electrical plug on the AC lines. Unplug it and jump the connection to enguage the clutch (2 wires). I do not recomend this to as you can severly damage the compressor if you do not get it charged fast enough. One more thing... always charge on the low side! Beware that 134a can cause sever freeze burns if anything ruptures or leaks on you. Only charge in a well ventilated area. CAUTION please. A shop will fix it and you may be wasting your 134a if you fail.

Microtalks won't charge

I have the Cobra Microtalk 4100 FRS radios with charging base. After changing the batteries with new nimh rechargables the charge light would not illuminate and the unit would not charge. I noticed the original batteries had a metal band around one end. This band makes a small connection inside the battery compartment on the first battery. Seems to be a cheap way to ensure you dont try to recharge the unit with non-rechargable batteries installed. I rapped a small piece of tinfoil around one end of the first battery in the new set then popped it back in and now they will charge correctly again. Dont try this with non-rechargable batteries! I would recomend buying original replacement batteries.
