a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Going to third parties and fixing the registry, etc. can spell disaster.
Do you have the system restore discs made for your laptop. If you did prior to the error, use them to fix the boot record.
If not, go through the safe mode using F8 key use command prompt.
Do a system restore to when it worked. That should fix the problem.

SOURCE: how can i reinstall STLog.dll
DELL Computer Owners: This is primarily a problem with Dell Computers, 15** series and up with the installed "DataSafe Online" software. You must uninstall all DataSafe Online software (usually three separate programs in the Windows Uninstall/repair prgrams list you access from control panel), then if you desire to continue to use it, reinstall the software with the disk that was provided with your computer.
This comes directly from Dell advanced Tech Support. Let me know if it works for you as it has me.

Testimonial: " it is written in plain english and for that i thankyou,"
SOURCE: stlog.dll is not responding
It may well be some form of virus or spyware.
It may also be that you have too many applications running at once eg. lots of toolbars and instant message typ programs.
It can also happen on graphic intensive applications.
You should rule out nasty stuff first.
for a free one its pretty darned good !
From a CLEAN computer download and put on a flash drive.
Copy to your DESKTOP on the suspec computer.
Run it but dont change any options just use what it offers.
When its done let it clean anything it finds.
Its where I always start with an infected machine.
As for antivirus AVOID Norton or Mcafee but try the AVG FREE version MBAM should clean up without buying
Only continued use would require purchase As for too many applications that would be up to you to decide what you REALLY need and dont. Most toolbars are a waste of both time and space and can hog computers down. Maybe a good clean up is in order ?
It may just be a "leaking application"
These are badly coded programs that dont release memory when they should and just keep taking more to do the same job.
May I suggest you download "hijackthis"
It is a program that can make a report on what you have running in such a way that you can post that information to certain sites and experts there will look at it.
They will then give you reccomendations as to how you can remove programs or fix some issues that may be upsetting your computer.
Dont post the log here but follow the nstructions and help the program offers to send it to one of the sites it will offer you.
If you understand startup lists you may even be able to spot som things yourself that you dont want to run and disable them from hijack this.

which states (after my editing):
The problem is related to DELL DATASAFE LOCAL BACKUP on your machine. It's the backup program that comes with your DELL.
STservice.exe is an unimportant part of this backup program.
It's just the scheduler. You won't need it.
The problem consists in the fact that the program can't find
It seems to me that you cannot download DELL DATASAFE LOCAL BACKUP from any site on the internet.
Here is my solution:
1. If you can find DELL DATASAFE LOCAL BACKUP on the DELL DRIVERS AND UTILITIES CD that comes with your Notebook, Uninstall the whole program, ... and install it again from the CD.
