I just put a new belt on my Pro-Form treadmill. When I start it, it runs for about 3 seconds, then it stops and gives me an E2 error code. What does that mean?

Hi there

sanjay treadmill repair professional from india

you have done some mistake when you fixed the new belt.
You have a speed sensor problem.
CHECK
1.Front roller sensor usually a magnetic one for broken wire or for larger space between the magnet and the sensor.
i) Sensor is Usually 2 wire and magnet is fixed on to the roller.
ii) Magnet can dislocate from its place check the magnet for attraction by taking a screw driver.
iii) Chcec gap between the magnet and the sensor on the frame. Gap should be betwwen 3mm to 5mm.
2. If roller sensor is not present then there is alternative sensor on the motor ususlly a multi holed plate revolves between the sensor.
i) It is usually has 3 wires.

Check for the connections on the motor control board.

My preform treadmill isn't starting, how do I fix this problem?

If it tries to run for a second or two and stops it will probably be the speed sensor. It is a small magnetic switch that is activated by a magnet on a flywheel that drives the belt. The control board looks for this signal to set the speed of the belt, without the signal the belt will stop. A competent DIYer could probably find and fix it but make sure the machine is unplugged from the wall before attempting any work.

Dear Sir:
The error code E1or E2 coming from this reasons.
1) Adjust the speed sensor, see the diagram attached, clean, and tight the connector wires.
2) Test the main motor input voltages coming from the output from the main motor board.

My belt is skipping on my Pro-Form 750

At the end of of the running belts in the end caps will adjusting bolts you will need a allen wrench to adjust the tension. Start your treadmill and turn clockwise a 1/4 turn each time see i f you can stop the belt. You need to be aware that the drive belt can also cause this problem so I suggest that you remove the motor shroud and when you are adjusting whether the front roller is moving and the running belt has stopped or the roller has stopped and motor is rotating ( adjust Drive Belt)

I have a Sears Pro Form 730si. The treadmill

I believe E4 on ths 730si means that the speed of the motor the sensor is detecting is greater than the set speed. E2 would be the opposite. I believe there is a way to calibrate the speed. Look at the smaller motor controller board.
