Question about Kenmore Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

I have the same problem with the inner coil.

The inner coil went out after 1.5 yrs. Is there an aftermarket triple element anywhere so I dont have to waste $122.75 plus shipping buying a junk coil from Sears? Is there any place you can obtain a repair manual?

Frozen evaporator coil

if the evaporator coil is frozen over, then most likely the defrost terminator is bad its located on the top of the evaporator coil and is about 1" round,to test it it needs to be below 15 degrees as this is a bi-metal switch operated by temperature,it will show close to zero ohms when its cold if its good, otherwise the defrost heating element can be open its located under the evaporator coil, but its a calrod element and they usually dont go bad,you can check this with an ohmmeter also and will have anywhere from 20 to 75 ohms,if these are both ok,then the defrost timer or ADC automatic defrost timer can be bad depending on which system your unit incorporatesl

Top oven bottom coil doesn't come on. Is it

Yes the lower element of a electric oven is the bake element, the upper on is broil element,
The most usual thing why it doesnt heat is a broken element. Does a part of it look smooth and a part real rough and ragged looking
If a part of it looks ragged and rough the element is bad,it should not be bulged out anywhere of it.
it should look smooth and uniform
If it does seem to be not uniform anywhere on it,replace bake element

My remote broke a few yrs ago. I need the tv code to enter in my comcast universal remote (can't find Element code anywhere?

Sounds like a re-branded set. Sold under different name than original manufacturer.

1-800-comcast they will get you the code. If there is no code specified, they can walk you through the procedure to search a working code. I assume you do not have the pamphlet / instructions for that. If you have the code list thing, it should have the manual search procedure on it. Quite simple to do.

What are spark coils?

I believe you are referring to ignition coils. A coil is an electrical device which basically converts 12volts (which is what a car battery puts out) and amplifies the voltage anywhere up to around 50,000 volts in order to ignite the spark plug which in turn burns fuel.

MG32 Cordless Electric Kettle: Power light shows on my kettle but water does not...

sounds like there's water in the element. Empty it out and let it dry out completely for a few days, and then try it again.
If the element is a concealed element (ie- you can't see the coils when you open the lid up) then there's probably a water leak into the sealed compartment.
Contact the manufacturer for a recommended repairer.

On right front triple burner the inner ring does not come on

if you are correctly turning the knob on to turn on that specific one(some require turning knob opposite direction to turn on that ring, read use and care or owners manual for instruction)

then check switch and element

should be one of these two, rarely wiring harness

Kenmore Elite 790 Range

I can't believe I found this today. Today, my Elite 790 inner coil also stopped working! A little too coincidental.

When I turn on the burner, I can hear like a relay click on, but it does not heat. The middle and outer burners are fine.
