Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

1 Answer

I have a emachines t6410 pc and a 15 inch led monitor that came with it. It is apx. 5 yrs old. Am having issue with monitor turning on. If computer sits for a long period (a few hours) without being used the monitor seems to hibernate even though I do not have this option checked. Trying to get it back on is an experiance! I keep fiddlng with the power cord, the cord from pc to monitor, pushing button off n on and finally the blue indicator light will start flashing and eventually the monitor turns on. I will add that I know the monitor is slowly dying as there are some black blobs at thebottom of the screen when it is on, however thankfully it is not in field of vidion when looking at various web sites. HELP!!!! Can't afford another just yet!!!

There are two forces involved, one is the monitor itself and the other is a display property. To turn back on press space bar, and that will reactivate.

Your description sounds like your machine may be sleeping or hibernating, these are power options in the control panel...

Some versions of XP did not function very well, like sleep (meaning wake up takes really long time). Adjust those settings and your system should cooperate better.

IF you knew that your machine would take a long time to get going again, and that was normal, would that be okay? To test, press space bar and WAIT, a really long time, I would expect unit to come live, on it's own, eventually....

Amazing our need for speed, eh?

I connected my mag monitor to my emachines pc im trying to make the speakers work on the monitor so far no luck ////??? the monitor is a mag lt782s and the pc is a emachines t6410

You should have been provided with an audio cable when you purchased the monitor, it is a standard male to male 3.5mm cable, possibly with green ends on it. One end will plug into the monitor, the other will plug into the speaker port on your computer, usually colour coded green
hope this was helpful.

Emachine T6410 turns on but the screen says ''No Signal''

Hello,
This problem is very common when you have a bad ram/ memory module or it is not making sufficient contact. Remove them and clean with a piece of dry cloth and reseated properly. Try it again. If it is still not coming on, the ram may be bad. Get them tested and replaced.

Thanks,
Lolita

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

T6410 EMACHINE TRYING TO CONNECT START BUTTON

The motherboard in your computer is an MSI MS-7145, which is also called RS480M. You can download a copy of the manual here. The front panel connections are on page 2-20.

Looking at the header JFP1, pins 1 through 9 (odd numbers) are the front row, pins 2 through 10 are the back. Pin 10 is the missing pin. The power switch connects to pins 6 and 8. The power LED connects to pins 2 and 4. The HDD LED connects to pins 1 and 3. The reset button, if used, connects to pins 5 and 7.
