Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 RAM Cover

How does one go about getting this cover off without breaking it? Once the screw is removed, there seems to be two latches holding it down internally.

Cannot get the Memory Module Slot Cover off the back of my A135-S7404. Can loosen the screw and lift the cover a little, but it doesn't seem to want to come off. Any clues would be appreciated. . .

A135-S4467 same issue, once the screw is removed the cover is held in place by connectors from underneath. Don't want to break the cover, but need to replace RAM chips.

The cover will come off. It need a little minor force from both sides since it has tabs causing the cover to remain somewhat secured. try a flat "plastic" head.

Resetting the bios password for Toshiba Laptop

It working with the Satellite A135

Power unit off. Disconnect AC power. Remove battery. Remove the memory cover screw, memory cover and the memory modules. Peel back the black lebel back from memory module 1, I soldered PAD500 solder pads (to short circuit them), install one memory memory in slot 2 and turned notebook on, it erase the password and boot without asking for one. Then power off desolder PAD500, replace mylar. Replace memory modules. Replace battery. Power up unit, replace memory cover and screw. Whalá!! the password gone, and you can enter to bios setup to set a new password if you want.

How to install Increase Ram

Purchase (2x) 1 GB PC2-4200 533 Mhz memory chips. Install them by removing the memory cover on the bottom of the laptop held down by 1x small phillips screw. to remove the old ones, press the two metal prongs on each side of the chip outward from the chip and it will lift up. Reinsert the new ones how the old one came out. Start at a 45* angle and once seated lay them flat.

Need to remove the cd/dvd drive in Toshiba Satellite A135 S4527 l

Most notebooks have a quick release button underneath for the CD-rom. There may also be a screw holding it in place. It's unlikely that you would have to remove your keyboard to take the dvd drive out.

You will need to remove the 2-512MB ram that are installed on your computer and buy 2-1GB sticks. There is no other way around this. Download CPU-Z program to find exact memory module needed before you buy the wrong one. Good luck.
