If you're using an add-on video card, check it to make sure it's functioning. make sure the video is seated properly, if it's an add-on card. if the video you're using is onboard, try an add-on video card. also check your memory. make sure it's (they're) seated properly. careful of ESD. disconnect power from computer when doing all this. reconnect power to check if what you did worked, (naturally).

New gateway dx4840 lga1156 core i3 and I get a steady beep sound. not a beep code. even with everything disconnected

I had that happen before when my RAM went bad. I think I shorted it out by not having it clicked in all the way, I don't remember. Maybe try swapping some RAM out one at a time and see what happens. Make sure the RAM is also in its right spots (like if you have 4 slots there is one in slot 1 and not in slot 3) I hope this helps.

Having installed this motherboard in the case and connected up I get a series of fast beeps a few seconds after power-up. I have immediately powered down. What is causing this problem? There is nothing in...

In your case, it is a memory problem. It's either one of your RAM has problem if you have 2 slot RAM. Please ensure that you have the right RAM for your board. You can also clean the contacts of your RAM by using eraser.
Below are the most common beep code that being adopted to most BIOS for reporting.

All i get is a beeping My gt5220 will not boot...help

Does there seem to be a pattern to the beeps? (long beep, pause, long beep or 3 beeps and a pause) The codes will depend on the motherboard and BIOS manufacturer. One of the Gateway code lists: http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/Intel2/WMEBLKD925XBCLK/WMEBLKD925XBCLKfaq17.shtml .

One beep is a CPU error. Three beeps is a memory error - you can remove and reseat the memory one stick at a time to find a bad stick causing them all to fail. Eight beeps is a video error.

I hope this helps.

Dell optiplex sx270: loud, steady noise like an alarm a few seconds after I turn on the PC

You can check the meanings of the error beep codes HERE. Every beep code means something different. The bad thing is that the code I think you are speaking of is a fatal error.

Good luck

Dell power edge 2850 make 4 seconds beeps alarm without stopping and without show any error Msg on the screen.

I don't understand the beep code you describe, but the 2850 has many beep codes to help understand what is going on.

First ... Identify the beep. Does the beep start as soon as you power it on, or after several seconds? What is the pattern of the beep - is it a repeating set of beeps - 3 sets of beeps between 1 and 4 beeps ... like 1 beep-3 beeps-2 beeps, or 3 beeps, 3 beeps, 1 beep? Or is it a steady repeating beep - about once per second?

Second ... is the LCD panel on the server blue or orange? If orange, what is the error code(s) it is scrolling?

If it is a steady, once-per-second beep, it is probably your RAID controller. Does the system boot to Windows/OS ok? If so, use (or install) OpenManage Server Administrator (Managed Node from Dell's Support Site) to check the Hardware Logs and check the RAID array (under Storage/Virtual Disks). If it is not booting to the OS, then go into CTRL-M to see what the status of your array is.

Won't boot, has a steady beep sound.

Hi,
Beep codes denote that there may be problem with your RAM modules inside your computer Cabinet. Remove the cabinet, remove the RAM modules from the slot, clean the dust particles present and replace the RAM back to the slot properly and try restarting your system. Try 5 continuous attempts like this and at any one your system may come alive. The Beep codes may vary among different motherboard vendors. So refer to your system motherboard manual and there the interpretation for different kinds of beep code will be provided.

I hope this is helpful and solves your problem,
Thanks
