Question about Epson Stylus Photo R2400 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper feed mechanism fritzes after two or three prints. It either won't feed at all (most common) or it feed a whole bunch of paper at once (rare).

I've been online with Epson, on the phone with Epson, and finally went to a certified Epson repair shop where I spent $275 to get a new paper feed mechanism installed. I brought it home. It worked for about 4 prints. I'm going nuts at this point. I bring it back to repair shop, but like when you bring your car to the mechanic for that "thing" --misfiring, stalling at lights, squeaky brakes, blinker problems, etc. -- it works perfectly when you bring it into the shop. The shop guy brought my printer to the back for 5 or 10 minutes while the front office guy chatted me up. Then Mr. Silent comes back and, while staring me down, runs an 25 or 30 pages of the paper I brought with me -- Epson photo paper (both matte and Luster, the kinds I most often use) -- by pressing the top button on the printer. It works flawlessly. No charge. Such a deal! I get it home again and it prints 5 flawless prints. Beautiful. It was like I had my old machine back. I was elated. I might even make my work deadline. Then the 6th, 7th , 8th , etc. etc., attempts failed. Every now and again I could get paper to pass through the printer correctly by pressing the top button (the paper feed/trash button), but I haven't gotten it to print another single print.  What do I do? The printer was too expensive and I am too dependant on it for my work to simply drop kick it and by a new and improved ( and obsolete in a year or two) for $1,000 or $2,000 or $3,000. HELP !!!

My scx-4725fn printer doesn't print. and gives the error message what should i do?

what is the error message that it gives you ? the most common on these printers is the paper feed error the machine will not pick up paper. the feed tire is right below the toner system and the feed tire gets dirty and wont feed paper. if this is the case the feed tire needs to be cleaned. you should take it to a dealer for this cleaning because it is hard to get to the whole tire with out knowing what to do.

HP 1315v Printer Makes grinding noise and won't feed paper anymore

It sounds as though a sheet of paper or an envelope bunched up and has jammed inside. Until that is removed from the feed roller, you will continue to hear the 'grinding' sound, and won't be able to print anything. Remove the cover from the backside of the machine, then locate and remove the obstruction. If you don't have any such obstruction then you have a mechanical defect which is not user repairable.

My dell 2350 dn feeds to much paper causing jam

Step 1: Try fanning the paper at the feed edge before placing it in.
Step 2: Ensure that the paper is placed in with the edge curl up. When holding a bunch of paper between two fingers, the paper will naturally have a curl to it. It should be placed in "happy" (Edges up).
Step 3: Inside the printer's paper tray and where the feed mechanism is, locate the feed rollers and static feed pad. These will all be rubbery or "foam"-like. They should always be slightly tacky when rubbed against, however paper dust will eventually cause them to become slippery instead. Rubbing alcohol can be used to clean them with care and a Q-tip and recover the slightly rubbery, tacky feeling, thus resolving misfeeds.

Epson Stylus CX4800 prints blank pages

I'm not familiar with the Epson Stylus printers, but I'm going to hazard a guess. If the paper does not move at all, the paper pickup feed mechanism is at fault. One of two methods is used to pick up the sheet. Either the front lower portion of the tray is lifted up to force the top sheet into the feed roller, or the feed roller is connected to a drop-swivel to drop the feed roller onto the top sheet of paper. You'll need to look carefully at the feed mechanism to determine if a gear or clutch is failing. If the paper moves into the machine about 1/2 inch and then stops, either the first paper feed roller past the pickup roller may be at fault. Also check to see if the paper sensor between the paper pickup roller and the first feed roller is working properly.

Canon Inkjet, Not Printing?

Hi Rosa,
There was a paper jam and you cleared the jam, however you missed out to do one other thing. Cleaning the Rollers.

If the Paper Feed Roller is dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly.
In this case, clean the Paper Feed Roller. Cleaning will wear out the Paper Feed Roller, so perform this only when necessary.

You need to prepare: three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper

1.Make sure that the power is turned on, and remove any paper from the Rear Tray.

2.Open the Paper Output Tray gently, and open the Output Tray Extension.

3.Clean the Paper Feed Roller without paper.

(1) Press the g0081065_tcm14-774017.jpg (Maintenance) button repeatedly until b appears.

(2) Press the Black or Color button.
The Paper Feed Roller will rotate as it is cleaned.

4.Clean the Paper Feed Roller with paper.
(1) Make sure that the Paper Feed Roller has stopped rotating, and load three sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Rear Tray.
(2) Make sure that b appears on the LED, then press the Black or Color button.
The machine starts cleaning. The cleaning will be completed after the paper is ejected.

This should fix the issue

Paper can not feed into printer

This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So if you have used any adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. If not there can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
So start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.
Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the rollers can be turned manually so that you will be able to feed a paper to see the progress of the movement while studying if there is any obstruction or damage to the paper.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Reassemble but make sure the rollers are aligned to be in equal gap to feed the paper without a side pull. Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction

The printer is not printing receipts and the error indicator is blinking on and off, what is the solution to this?

Flashing (approx. once every second): Out of paper
Flashing (approx. twice every second): Mechanical error (Buzzer sounds once.)
Most likely your paper feed is giving you the error. Remove the current feed, ensure there are no paper jam & insert fresh paper.
Mechanical Error :: Quick blinking Buzzer Sounds continuously for a pprox. 1 second :: Reset the Power

Paper End Blinks.:: Buzzer Repeats a short 3-time sound twice at intervals of 0.5 second.:: Set a new paper roll.
Paper Near End Blinks.(Once a second) :: buzzer Repeats a short 3-time sound twice at intervals of 0.5 second.:: Set a new paper roll.

Mechanical Error : If the printer mechanism has a greater load due to a paper jam, etc., the buzzer will sound and the SEL/ERROR lamp will blink to stop the printer mechanism.
Paper End : If the printer has run out of paper, the paper sensor in the paper path near the print head will detect the end of the paper roll, turn on the buzzer, and blink the SEL/ERROR lamp to stop the printer mechanism. If the paper is inserted into the paper path, the paper will be loaded.
Paper Near End : If the paper is running out, the paper near end sensor will be activated to turn on
the buzzer and make the SEL/ERROR lamp blink. Even after the paper near end is detected, a command can be used to print by the specified number of lines. (See a description on the command for setting the number of print lines after paper near end detection)
Backup Data Clear : When the power is turned on, depending on the SEL switch operation, the
backup data in the input buffer will be cleared according to the flowchart on the next page.
To clear the input buffer, turn on the power while pressing the SEL switch.
The following messages will be printed.
"Clear Data in Buffer"
"Cleared Data in Buffer"
To print the data in the input buffer, simply turn the power on.
The following message is printed and the data in the input buffer is printed.
"Power Down(Data in Buffer)
