Question about Apple PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook
Normally when I press the on button the orange light changes to green, but tonight it is doing nothing. Is there another battery which controls the date etc? which might need replacing? I haven't used the laptop for a while and the last time I did so I got a message saying that the date was wrong.
Yes, there is an internal battery that keeps the time, it is called the cmos battery and belive it or not, if the time is not set, it won't boot, you can get a cmos battery for your laptop pretty cheap on ebay, and east to install, just pop the old one out and put the new one in, must open the laptop to do this, or take it to someone to do it for you.
