No click or sound from engine while turning key can be fuse

This is usually not a fuse but there is an ignition fuse that MAY control the solenoid operation on the started. Check your fuses first.

Also check your battery. Confirm it has a charge. If battery is charged and fuses are OK it may be the starter is shot. You can test this by disconnecting the wires from the starter, having someone turn the key like they are starting the car and testing the trigger wire of the starter for 12 volts DC.

Where is the fusible link in a John Deere LX 255 lawnmower?

First thing to check is make sure you blade switch is in off position, brake/clutch is down and locked. There is a 20amp fuse in a fuse holder by the battery in engine compartment. Is it not turning over or not starting?

I would try to jump the starter. Pos cable on the starter then ground out the neg, it the starter turns over that isnt it. then check the smaller wire going to your soleniod, when you turn your key to the start position it should have power. then check to see if there is power from the battery to your soleniod then with the key turned power from the soleniod to the starter.

check the battery i.e. load test it they dont last long, most of 2 seasons, then if this is o.k. clean all terminals as any corrosion will cause this also and make sure all connections are tight,it doesn't hurt even if theres no corrosion to loosen and re-tighten all connections

Starting problems with my cub cadet 2166 lawn mower? Battery is good, not turning over, sometimes it clicks? I can jump start but it is a pain. I have taken this to a dealer last year for this problem....

If it works when jump started, then I would suspect a bad battery or lose or corroded connection. check wires from battery to starter relay also known as solenoid to starter,if it is making a click, the ignition is most likely ok . safety start switch is ok ,I still suspect Battery..can you have it load tested or try a known good one?PS if above test OK, then starter or starter solenoid /relay.Hope this helped you fix it. please let us know if this helped.thank you.

Check your solenoid to starter output. If you are not getting 12 volts out, replace the solenoid. If you are getting a full 12 volts, check the input to the starter, if you don't get 12 volts there, check your cable for loose or corroded connections, if you do get 12 volts, replace the starter

Ride on lawnmower isnt starting.

You may have a bad starter - the solinoid is "clicking" but not engaging. Remove the starter and clean it up and connect it to 12 volts to check if can turn. If not then buy a new starter and replace it out.
