Sounds like it is time to replace the imaging drum. This is a consumable and usually done every 15-20k pages. Cost is about $250-300 and very easily replaced, fast as changing a toner.
I am assuming that you tried changing the yellow toner already? If not, do that first...

The only way to reset the image unit drum is installing a new one. The new image unit has a fuse which once blown it resets the counter on the machine. You can call www.iteminconline.com I have their information in my ad place. They are good techs. I once called for a 7300 image unit reset and they said it was almost the same as a 2135 and they gave me this information. well goodluck.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 6250 keeps saying
check to see if the switch in the printer is not broken,
you can take the tray out and look inside and you will see a switch assembly that corresponds to the printer tray settings. also, look at the papen sensor and see if it swings properly.
if it all looks well, you will need to get a part.

Testimonial: "Thanks, I'll check all that out."
SOURCE: I have a Xerox Phaser
Quickly try to press cancel on the printer and then turn it off. Then Open the print queue and right click on the document and select "cancel" you may need to do this a number of times, and if you can't get it out of the queue, reboot the computer and delete it then if it is still in the queue.

There is a snippet on the Xerox website to solve
imaging unit recognition problems, link below.
Usually this problem only occurs if the NVRAM has been reset or the engine
board has been replaced without backing up the NVRAM.
You can download the snippet to your printer through Centreware or by
downloading the 'File Downloader' utility from the same page above.
Hope this helps.
