Running out of hot water with Vulcan Freeloader 300

We have moved into a fantastic 5 bed rental property with a Vulcan Freeloader 300, but the water appears to run out during the second shower and doesn't fill the bath. There appears to be some continuous dripping from the tank. What may be wrong?

Troubles with enercare, not able to get satisfaction with getting a new rental hot water tank,no hot water since Aug 31/17

Depending on several things that can and do go wrong, most hot water heaters are fairly simple machines.

You do not mention exactly what is going wrong, only that you are not getting mutch help from enercare (The primary provider of the rental equipment).

Since it is a RENTAL piece of equipment, it is for the rental company to provide the support, if that fails, then there is the Provincil or State agencies that handle contractors and their agents.

Please add some details so that anyone reading this can help.

Specifically the Make and Model.
How big of a house size , and perhaps, try calling the Installers who installed the machine.

usually, there is a number on the front of the heater.

Vulcan freeloader 260 suddenly turns off after heating to temperature. Control unit was just replaced but still doing the same. I was told by another person it is the thermo couple but the fitter said

The thermocouple makes sense, if it does not send enough electricity to the control unit it will shut off. The thermocouple was probably moved when a new control unit was installed. Check to be sure the pilot flame touches the thermocouple, if not realign it else replace it.

We are getting a brown colour in our hot water from our Vulcan freeloader (assume this is where its from anyway). Is this a fixable problem or will we need to look at a new unit? The current unit is about...

unfortunately there is no fix other than replacing the tank, it has a lot of rust buildup inside over 18 years, which is a very long time for a hot water tank today.

Can I replace the pilot light on a Vulcan Freeloader 260 gas HWS?

Hello...how old is the unit? Today it is very common for gas appliances to have electric igniters instead of a pilot light. Unless you are familiar with gas controll/regulator valves I would not recommend trying this yourself. I believe it is more likely a faulty or dirty thermo-couple. Again , unless you are familiar with the opperation of gas supplies ,controls ,etc. DO NOT ATTEMP to do this yourself!!! Gas is very dangerous for the less than well informed! Call a service pro or speak to and ask for the assistance of a knowledgable friend.

My Mum has a Vulcan freeloader 260 gas hot water system and it appears that the pilot light has gone out. The only problem is I can't find where it is to test how to turn it back on. Can someone please...

Remove the access panel lower right hand side and locate the pilot light re-igintion push button. The instructions are pritnted on the back of the access panel.

Too much water draining from Vulcan Electric H/W relief valve.

Dear Julie. Do you have an expansion tank installed? If so it is probably waterlogged. If you come home shower etc. use lots hot water then go to bed or leave the cold water in your tank heats and expands as it heats. In the old days a toilet ballcock valve would relieve this pressure but modern toilets with diaphragm valves wont so the pt valve relieves pressure. Installing an expansion tank on the cold water line near the heater will absorb the extra water & stop the pt valve from activating.
