Question about Acer Aspire 3100-1405 Notebook
When attempting to access Hotmail and some other sites, they time out. is this a problem with Vista and, if so, how can it be fixed. Have tried disabling Norton Protection with no success.
If you have Microsoft Defender running, you may have it set on default which I found too restrictive. Try this site for "How-to"

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Well thats funny Hotmail is owned by Microsoft and this is Hotmails address http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=10&ct=1187752173&rver=4.5.2130.0&wp=MBI&wreply=http:%2F%2Fmail.live.com%2Fdefault.aspx&id=64855
I would take it up with MIcrosoft if I were you only they can help you if your Vista cannot recognise Hotmail unless your signing in through a client for instance Outlook express or any other client. Hotmail will not connect to any clients other than the above link.
