My intermodal crane does not lift or drop down.

My intermodal crane does not lift up or drop down. The motor is running in both directions. How do I remove the plastic box from the top of the crane to see what is going on? I see that there are 4 screws on the underside, do these need to be removed to gain acess? Or is it just a matter of prying off the top. Where are the tabs located to release the cover? What should I be looking for inside once I get a look at the mechanism

SOURCE: Front panel removal instructions for

You have to remove the back bottom skirt from television in order to get to the screws for the front bottom panel. When the front bottom panel is removed there will be more screws visible, for front screen. After an afternoon of trying to get it apart, just to clean the mirror on ours, we finally got it.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Wispertone

I just encountered the same problem on a Whispertone 116 last evening. If it is the construction same as mine, there are four flexible plastic retainers molded into the top cover in the gap between the pedal and the motor cover. These are on the hinged side of the pedal. All four retainers must be bent in toward the interior of the vacuum simultaneously to release the pedal. A screwdriver does not work very well for this. What worked for me were four metal bars about 3/8" wide X 1/8" thick X 1-1/2" long. The pieces I used were actually the snap-off ends of some hanging file rails I found in my basement. Insert the four bars at the four retainers. They should fit snugly as they must push the retainers past the hinged portion of the pedal. To remove the pedal, rotate the pedal up in the same direction as the spring is pushing and it should come free from the motor compartment cover at which point you can access the other two screws. I suspect Sears has a special tool with four tabs to perform this trick in the repair center. Good luck!

SOURCE: Little tykes hummer how to remove gearbox

You have to take off the push nuts, but you will have to replace them.
The little tikes gearbox assembly can be purchased at this site http://www.shopjandl.com/
but if you just need the push nuts like I did you get them here http://www.shopjandl.com/0801-0226.html.
I had the same problem, so all I had to do has tighten up those screws and replace the push nuts.
Hope this helps

I am looking for more information regarding cranes, can anyone help me?

Tasked with lifting and lowering loads of varying weights, cranes have a fundamental role in many industrial environments. Because they are able to lift weights which would otherwise be impossible to lift, they are extremely important and valuable mechanical objects. Anybody who works with cranes or has worked with them in the past knows how complicated they can be - servicing and maintenance, usage safety, and installation are just some of the responsibilities associated with the lifting medium. The team over at Cranes Direct have complied all their expert knowledge into one handy infographic, titled "Essential Tips for Working with Cranes". Whether you are new in the lifting and lowering industry, or if you have been involved with cranes for years, this infographic provides you with all the information you may need. If you're perhaps looking for something more specific regarding a certain aspect of the equipment, don't hesitate to ask me!

I think you have a problem with the plow motor grounding out. when you raise or turn plow in either direction you have to run the plow motor which is grounded out. ( as in hooking the ground and positive together directly ) the plow is on a gravity drop when you let it down by the weight itself and does not require the motor for the plow to operate. It's your plow motor or the positive feed to selonoids.

Oil pan removal?

Im not sure if you are talking about the motor pan or the tranny pan. But I have lifted the motor and tranny together on a vehicle to change the motor pan and mounts before. I remember having to loosen the fan shroud. Undo linkage on the tranny and make sure the shifter boots were loose. The key for me was going real slow with the crane and having extra eyes around. It was a pain but it worked out.
