There is no fuse...
Sounds like it could be your thermostats and or your heating element that needs replacement

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Our dryer does not blow hot air? The cloths do not

more than likely the heating element has gone out. if your clothes have no heat then the element is the most likely cause. you can get one for anywhere between $30 - $50. you'll need to know model and serial #'s. usually easy to replace.

MY DRYER DOESN'T GET HOT

There are a few things to check out. 1. This may seem obvious, but make sure your temperature switch is not pointed to "fluff/air dry".
2.Is the motor running? It has to, to dry three. Make sure your door switch is engaging properly.
3. If you are so inclined, unplug the power cord and remove the back lower panel of the dryer.) Remove the vent pipe & allow the unit to run, if you now have the proper heat this means the vent is block, check the outside vent hood, the sometimes have a screen just inside that will block up not allowing for air flow.

Check all wire connections to make sure they are attached properly. If they are burned or worn, they need to be repaired or replaced. Any disruption of the circuit to the dryer element will stop its functioning.
4. Next, look for the thermostat.. which is usually a small circular metal device attached to the dryer element canister. Unscrew it and shake it slightly. You should hear a clicking noise. This should indicate that your thermostat is working (but not always!).
5. Remove the heater element canister cover and check to see that there is continuity of the element wires (no breaks). If there is a break, it needs to be repaired of replaced. You can take the heater element to a repair shop and be tested for current. If you think that you can repair any of this on your own, then go for it. Always think safety first before proceeding

Dryer not drying clothes

If you remove the lid you will see the element on top of the drum.
There are a couple of thermal cutouts mounted on it which would be the first thing to check.
Also look for the obvious broken wires etc.
Also can you hear the fan running when machine is in operation?
Hope this helps & thankyou for using Fixya.

If you can turn it on and have the door open, hold the door switch in and see if you have a glow from the heating element. If not, your element is broken. That is if it is an electric dryer. If it is a gas dryer you need to check the pilot light or the thermo sensor.

Whirlpool Dryer blows cold air when starting no heat

Did the fuse blow out? If so then the heating element is shorted out. This happens frequently when they fail. If the fuse is blown check the condition of or change out the heating element.

Dryer not drying clothes.

examine all the ducts in the dryer, and the fan and fan housing for lint. Lint buildup stops the air exiting the dryer
cant get out
cant get in
no air
no dry
surprising how much lint you can get out of a dryer

UNPLUG

examine devices::
thermal fuses, thermostats and the heater element for conductivity.
remove 1 wire from each to isolate from the circuit, test with ohmmeter or battery and bulb, replace wire
when cold all devices in the heater circuit should conduct

when cold a small device in the motor circuit that looks the same as all the other devices, a cool down thermostat does NOT conduct
