I cannot scan or fax after multiple tries. Can you assist

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Try to reset the printer by power cycling it for 4-5 min.s. Also tell me if you are able to print and not fax/scan. Make sure that all the cables are plugged in well. Also tell me if you are getting any error messages on the printer as well as on the computer.

Try and reset it & check if it works. To reset the printer go in the configuration menu where you can reset the printer back to factory defaults.

  • Press and hold the Start and Stop buttons and turn on the printer.
  • Hold the buttons down until “Performing Self Test” is displayed on the LCD.
  • Release the buttons and “Configuration Menu” is displayed.
  • Scroll to the RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS item on the menu and press select.
  • Now scroll to RESTORE BASE and press select this should reset your network card password.
  • There is also a RESTORE NETWORK, this will erase the network configuration but will not reset the password.

Sounds like you are faxing multiple pages through the document feeder and it is trying to grab a few sheets instead of just one.
If you are doing multiple pages make sure they are aligned and separated.
Maybe fan the pages and then pat them on a level surface to make sure they are aligned.

The fax software on your computer should let you enter multiple numbers to fax to.  Scan the document to an image file on your computer.  The computer will store the image and will dial each number and send the document.

you can use the automatic docu feedr at the top of the machine to fax multiple pages just put all the pages you want to scan on that feeder then do the usual faxing steps

What do you mean scan? Is it from the printer to the computer? Or just plain copy? When you want to scan to the computer, you need a software that can scan multiple pages. HP's document feeder can copy and fax multiple pages, so if the software supports multiple pages scanning, then I'm sure it can.

Scanning / faxing problem


you will need to replace the adf assembly or the portion of adf roller which was dameged.

typically one should open th ecover and take out the jam inth direction of papermovement only
