The hand-held wand wont slide back into the tube. It wont go down far enough to click in and become the handle again. It was working fine but all of the sudden won't fit back in.

Sounds like the tube has something inside of it that is obstructing the path. veriffy the the "female" end of the tube isnt obstructed, and also, make sure that nothing is bent ( which can happen easily). use a flashlight to shine down into the tubes and check everything out. you shouldnt need to use a lot of pressure when trying to make the tubes fit. if it doesnt fit, dont force it, basically.....try turning the tube too, and that should work.

Dyson wand, handle and hose are all unattached. How do I put them back together?

You can find a copy of the DC14 Manual here (
https://www.dyson.com/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/US/Floorcare/manuals/dc14_opmanual_usa2007%20pdf.pdf ) Pages 4, 5, and 6 have plenty of schematics for putting the wand/handle assembly back together and getting everything to click. In a nutshell, the metal tube pretty much just slides back into the tube top, and then the slid-in tube clicks back into the top of the machine.

Good Luck!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07 Animal. From what you've described, it sounds as if the wand has been replaced on the cleaner without the hose being retracted. To remove the wand from the machine, hold the cleaner securely in place by placing one foot on the cleaner head, then pull the wand up forcefully whilst holding the purple quick-draw hose release (located above the on/off switch) down. Make sure you are not leaning over the top of the wand as you do this.

Once you've freed the wand from the cleaner, make sure you retract the wand before replacing it on the cleaner again. Hold down the hose release button on the hose cuff as you retract the wand inside the hose.

You might find it useful to refer to the user guide supplied with the cleaner - in case you don't have this to hand, you can download a copy here:

manner. Position front of lid under tabs
(I) on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto

Make sure lid is secure on all sides
before cleaning.
For full suction, it is important that
the recovery tank lid is properly

No suction on wand of Dyson DC14 Animal

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

The wand is hard to pull up

The wand on this machine get lots of tiny dirt and fine dust caught in the sliding tube that fits in the hose. You will need to take the hose at its cuff end where it meets the wand and press the two tabs to release the wand out, then take some spay cleaner of any kind and wipe down the wand tube. This should make it easy to slide in and out of the hose. Now just put it back together.

Vacuum wand won't retract fully into it's compartment.

HI,
FIRSTLY DETACH WAND FROM UNIT AND SLIDE HOSE DOWN AS FAR AS IT GOES, SPRAY A LITTLE WD40 OVER WAND AND SLIDE HOSE UP AND DOWN, AS FOR THE CAP, TAKE A PAIR OF PLIARS, GRAB HOLD OF END OF CAP AND PULL CAP FULLY OUT OF THE HANDLE,AT THIS POINT CHECK THE SPRING OR REMOVE THE SPRING IF YOU PREFER AND PUSH THE CAP BACK INTO HANDLE AND THAT WILL DO IT FOR YOU.

Wand

Do you have a telescopic/height adjustable wand or just two tubes which have to be stuck together? If they are made of plastic well, it may well be broken. If its metal check that the tops aren't corroded or the handle itself isn't broken. If the tubes/wand isn't sliding up and down (i.e. if its height adjustable) then something has got stuck. Sadly for this kind of repair you'd be better off to buy replacement wands or consider something aftermarket on EBAY. Check the diameter of the tubes with a ruler. If it is 3.2cm (32mm) or 3.5cm (35mm) you can buy replacement tubes. If you can't afford that then try furniture polish on a J cloth or similar and with a stick wedge it inside the tube/wand so that it adds a little lubrication or simply a clog - it sounds like there is dirt clogged in the part that slides. Dont forget to rate, thanks.
