Turn on the Epson Stylus.

  • If a cartridge is expended, you see a message on the Epson Stylus display screen. The icon on the screen indicates which color to replace. Press OK.

Dell 1250C color laser printer using A5 200gsm light card. Problem patches of color rub off and dirty residue left on non-print areas. Seemed ok when test single run on 80gsm paper but problem occurred...

Usually when you get some color rub off what you are trying to print, it means that the ink waste pad are getting to full.

Every time you initialize the printer, test it, replace a cartridge, it needs to test by trying to get the ink out. When it is doing so without paper, the ink goes into an absorbant fabric usually called waste ink pads.

In your case you can ask Dell support where these are located and take a look at them. If you see that they are overflooded with ink there is your issue with the plinting residue.

Most of the time these pads are not officially replaceable, beacause it is better economically speaking to change the printer rather that going to the hassle of changing these.

But if you have time and are not affraid of taking appart your printer, you can either remove them and chang them, or try to clean and dry them then put them back.

It is difficult but sometimes it is the only way, because in cases were it is not supported bu the manufacturer you will not find any proffessional computer shop to do that job, and even if you find one it won't be for less than the price of a new equivalent printer.

Hope this helps.

Brother mfc printer will not print black ink

Sounds as if the black portion of the printhead has dried or become blocked. I would advise running cleaning cycles from your printer software or the printer itself (should be tucked away in maintenance/ink management).

If this fails to help then unfortunately it is likely to be a mechanical problem with the printer itself. In which case I would recommend getting in touch with Brother themselves for repair/replacement.

Printer is not printing colors correctly. Brown looks red. Is there a way to clear ink heads or ink area. case shows ink spillage, need to clean up area maybe will help with color printing.

You press the ink button and choose cleaning option and test print to see if colors are correct, clean again if colors are wrong. The spillage won't hurt print quality when it's around the cartridge area. If you are using generic inks they sometimes are not the correct color.

I just changed ink cartridges in my printer. I

Are these refilled cartridges? They could be bad, if they are you may want to try to purchase new ones. Also just in case, make sure they are in the right slots, color in the color slot, black in the black slot. I know it sounds simple, but you'd be surprised how often this happens.

Carriage cycles normally but no ink on paper.(Stylus color 880)

Turn off printer. Open Case. Move head carriage to parking position. Do suction from outlet pipe of head cleaning mechanic. It's for checking head. is there ink out? If printer not used for long time, may be ink inside head dried. Utility screen just show estimated not actually. If head clog, and do head cleaning more 5 times, screen show ink nearly out, but actually ink tank nearly full.

Pixma MP830 is printing things green that should be red

when you change all new cartridges (make sure all cartridge ok, and the cartridge pins connection ok) still red color lost, it is the trouble at print head ink chanel some of that is too dry for longer time less using , most CANON printer head is separated from the ink cartridge, two way you may try:
1) take out the ink cartridge, drop down a little the special cleaner (best clean tools buy from dealer), to the head ink chanel hole, then set back the ink cartridge and waiting minutes
2) try put the print head bottom surface touch a little cleaner or water 1-2 hrs, if you can take out the print head unit. still not fixed for some case that should change the print head unit.

Black ink in the printer is not printing. I have had to use the color ink and now it is going. I have changed the cartridges several times and reinstalled them but to no...

Two possible solutions depending on the issue.
Most likely it is a hardware issue. Get a cotton swab and alcohol and rub lightly along the bottom of the casing which holds the B&W cartridge, also wipe any dried ink from the bottom of the cartridge itself with a paper towel.

However, if the problem is in the configuration. You may need to make sure that the printer is configured to use B&W and color cartridges and not configured to use two color cartridges. It is supposed to autodetect, but may not be detecting properly. If this is the case it should indicate this on the printer configuration page. (Not the Windows Printer Test Page.)

See your documentation on how this is created for your printer model if you don't know how to print the configuration.
