Hi,
There are two kinds of passwords: the BIOS password and the Windows password. The BIOS password is set from the BIOS, and your computer asks for it when you start your computer.
The Windows password is asked when you want to log on to your user account. It is also known as the Administrator password.
You mention that you have forgot the Administrator password; you can try the following methods for recovery:
If you have another user account, log in to it and then reset the password of your account. Go to control panel and select User Account. Select Manage another account option and then choose remove password.
Reinstalling Windows will also remove your password but it will also erase your data. See the next step if you have important data.
If you have only one user account then the procedure is more lengthy, however. The following steps explain how you can reset your password:
Download PCLoginNow (57MB) (click on the link and download free from from rapidshare)
When you boot from the CD you have just burned in the previous steps PCLogin will start.
Select next and then highlight your operating system with your mouse or arrow keys.
Select next.
In step 2, select your user-name with the mouse and tick the "password is empty" check box (see below).
Select next. Your computer will now reboot and your password will be removed.
Thank you.
If you do not know how to burn an ISO, please follow the steps below:
You need a pc with administrator access, a CD writer and a blank CD. Download the PCLoginNow on this pc and extract the ISO file. (There will be other files but only extract PCLoginNow_Full_2.0.iso and save it on your desktop).
Next Download Free ISO Burner
Select the FreeISOBurner file and right-click it. Choose run as administrator (if using Vista, or you need to use another computer where you can log on as administrator). Select your CD-RW drive from the list.
Put the blank CD-R into the drive.
Press the choose button and select the ISO file you extracted on your desktop. Choose the lowest speed, and tick the "finalize cd" option.
Wait for the files to be written on the CD.
Use this CD to boot and follow the instructions I have already posted as a solution.
