Question about HP Pavilion G60-120US NoteBook

1 Answer

When computer sleeps, it goes into lock mode. All of a sudden, didn't ever do that before. Want to reverse it back so it does nothing. Already changed to do nothing in control panel but that hasn't changed this situation.

My display screen goes on and off

I find sleep mode nothing but trouble, eventually corrupts window files over extended use, go into power options, go to stand by and select never and click apply, next go to hibernate "top right" and click, make sure the check box is clear, if not! remove check and click apply and restart your laptop.

My monitor going off ater half an hour

so either your computer is putting in sleep mode, or the power inverters on the back lighting are heating up and going out, try using a fladhlight to see if the picture is stil there after it goes off. if its there you have bad inverters. if there is no picture and your computer didn't go to sleep, then you have a bad controler card .

Power on and monitor goes to sleep mode

You need to try it on another PC, alos verify if the VGA cable is good. If nothing change, then you need to open it up, first thing to look for are the capacitors in the power supply. Look for cpas with bulging top/seal, see example of failed monitors here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you find so we can guide you further.

Why do may Dell inspiron 6000 allways lock when i close the computer. And when i open again i have to restart the coumputer. And the locker light signal with the 9numbe comes on .

Go to the control panel > power Options......Unselect Hibernation, and change the setting for what the laptop does when the lid closes. By default, when you close the lid, the computer will go into sleep mode. This is one of the worse things Windows ever put into practice. Nothing but torment and trouble follows sleep mode. Change the setting to "do nothing" and make sure everything else does not say sleep or hibernate.

Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediatly upon turning on computer

Ok. I think "sleep mode" means that your monitor might not have a tight connection. Tighten all connections. Also, push the power button on your tower. When you gegt back, go to screensaver- power settings- and from there you can adjust.

No DVi input, then computer goes to sleep

Hi publicworker,

I had a similar problem whereas my monitor went to sleep mode after a few minutes. I'm running an HP LP 2065 in dual mode with another HP flat screen. However, I did resolve the issue after resetting the output settings.

How to do that:
  • right mouse click on the desktop
  • select graphic options
  • output to
  • extended desktop
Maybe some changings/modification will help you too.

Laptop goes into permanent sleep mode, etc

If you can restart it and it starts up fine, then I would go into the power settings and disable sleep mode. Every computer is different on how to wake a sleeping computer, so you could read through your manuals and find out for yours, but I just disable sleep mode on all computers so i dont have to hassle with it.

Monitor suddenly goes black

Is this monitor and LCD flat Panel? If so this is due to a bad power supply, an inverter board going bad or LCD backlight bulb blown. When the backlight goes bad it gets just enough power to start up, but when it is on for a long period of time it goes black because the bulb is not stable enough to hold the charge because it is going bad. These bulbs can be changed, but they also can be costly!
