Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

We have a Carrier mini split AC that we are wiring on a portable office that will be going to a foreign country, the Carrier #38QG24-H. This unit's voltage specifications is 200-240volts, single phase, 50 Hertz. Question we will have a normal (USA)electrical panel with 240volts single phase and 50Hertz. Can I connect this AC off of a 2pole breaker? Someone suggested that he thought we could only connect off of a single phase (1-pole?)(phase to neutral or ground) of the 220/380volt local service. (I'm not sure if they even have a neutral) before we transform the office power to 120/240volts. Ken

Please 200- 240 volts is a standard for all and for the breaker is depending of the country if 120 v single phase you will install as usa if 220 v single also you can connect you breaker but the problem is some countries are not 50 hz comfirm the unit is 50/60 hz.

My carrier split ac trip after some time and green light blinking contsly

If this is a ductless split call a tech! The ductless split systems can be a troublesome unit to diagnose. A few things to try. Clean air filters and ensure coil behind is clean. And build up or debris on blower wheel (indoor fan blades) will cause unit to fault. Turn off power at breaker or disconnect and clean (with water hose and medium pressure) the outdoor coil. Be sure you will not damage outdoor coils fins with too much water pressure. Turn power on. If this simple service don't do it again, call a tech! Be sure to ask if they have someone who is experienced with mini split systems and be patient. Even the best technician will need to call carrier for tech support.

Carrier ac E4 error

If this is a ductless mini split e4 appears to be an air temp sensor on the indoor or outdoor unit that is sensing an abnormal reading. Check air filter and both I.d & o.d coil cleanliness. Its hard to troubleshoot without a model number. If its a 38g or 40g in the model number its a discharge temp sensor reading high temp situation (dirty o.d. coil, low freon, refrigerant restriction. Again, need a model #

I have a 14.4 square metre office room, fitted with 12000btu split AC unit for cooling, will it be sufficient?

1tr could cover up area of 100 Sqft ( Nearly 10sqmtrs) 12,000BTU is 1Tr. Better you go with 1.5 Tr. Otherwise make any patrician work to short the area, if you can. Thanks.
