Check for a plugged hose or wand, this is a classic sign of a plug some where between the power head and canister.

Vacuum cleaner turns on but has no sucking power.

The belt might have broken if something has clogged the brush head.
Lay it down on the floor and you should see two screws either side of the brushes.
If that doesn't help, you need to tell us what vacuum cleaner you have cos you haven't said.

Vacume does not suck from the brush but it sucks from the hose

take your brush out and take a coat hanger bend it straight then push it through the dust channel until it comes out where hose is. you probably just have an obstruction between those two places

My power head is spitting out the dirt ,etc instead of sucking up. Auggggh

The most likely cause is a plug in either the hose, wands, or neck of the power nozzle. If there is a plug in the line, the brushes on the nozzle just kick the dirt around. Eliminate each piece by attaching the hose to the unit first to ensure there is strong suction at the end of the hose. Then check each of the wands. Lastly, look down the neck of the power nozzle. Many times items like toothpicks, pine needles, pins, nails or bottle caps will lodge themselves in the lines, causing dirt and debris to pack around them. Most plugs can be fished out easily, but some may require you to take the unit in to a vacuum repair shop.

Dirt Devil bagless upright. sucks up dirt in the front and spits it out in the back. I have taken it apart to check for visible clogs in hoses and checked belt and rollers all of which are fine. what next?

There seems to be no vacuum drawing the debris away from the brush head. Remove the debris canister to check for air blowing into it. Check particularly, the area where the brush head pivots off of the upright portion. Hope this helps!

Dyson dc17 animal stopped sucking. brush still

Make sure the flexible hose that connects the beater brush housing up to the connection up by the dust bin is still connected. It could also have a hole in it so check for that as well.

Brushes on my roomba don't seem to be spinning.

Try running your roomba with the dust bin removed to see if the brushes turn. Take the brushes out and make sure they're clean. You may need to replace the brushes if they're worn. Failing that, you can find instructions on how to take your roomba apart. Take out the brush assembly and open the screws on the side of it to expose the gears that drive the brushes. There will probably be a lot of gunk in there jamming them up. You might need to check the motor too.

Filter queen spitting more than sucking

Usually this means that you have a clog, either in the hose, wands, or by the brush roll in the power head.

No sucking

Could be that the dust cup filter is clogged, part #60958, or the inlet down by the brush roll is clogged.

Be sure when you put the dirtant dust container in place that it is in properly. I have had this and believe it or not this container has enough room to fit without it seating properly. Take the dust container out and reseat it making sure the bottom is secure and then turn the lock lever in place. Try it again. What happens is you get an air gap which allows some air to flow but the vacum does not function properly.
