How do I get the cover loose on the side closest to the shaft? I have all the screws out but the cover will not come off.

What cover are you trying to take off? There is usually a separate cover over the thread path, and it's designed to be removed to that you can clean and remove any loose threads. That is over the needle shaft, and is generally held by one or two screws. If it's one screw, it's in the back; if it's two, then there's one on the side (often covered by a white disk to hide it--just pop it out), and one on the back that isn't covered by anything.

Bar that hold the sewing foot is loose

If the comment already posted did not answer your question, here is another thing to check. If the screw that attaches the foot and ankle to the presser foot bar is tight, and the foot can still be moved, it is likely that the presser foot bar has become loose within the lifting mechanism. You could save yourself some trouble by taking your machine to a sewing machine repair shop, but if you would rather avoid that expense, do the following. Remove the needle bar and take up mechanism cover on the left side of the machine. This is held on by a single phillips head screw on the back side of the machine, which, with the back of the machine facing you, should be on the top right side of the machine. Once this cover is removed you will be able to see two vertical metal shafts, one is attached to your needle clamp and needle, and should be in the front. The other is the presser foot bar, and will be behind the needle bar. There should be a small allen screw about halfway up that shaft that tightens onto the bar. With the presser foot properly positioned on the needle plate, tighten this allen screw. Don't tighten the screw too tightly, as this can damage the presser bar, just make sure it's nice and snug. Make sure the presser foot raises and lowers properly, and re-attach the needle bar cover.

there is usually a manual turn hidden somewhere on the inside roof. Find it and turn it with a wrench/screwdriver. Hope this helps :-)

Hi Anonymous, you have to remove the three sproket cover bolts/screws then remove the sproket cover to gain access to the footpeg support shaft nut. Good luck.

Toilet seat cover became loose on one side

I have a Toto Dorian 1.6 Gpf where the right side of the cover separated from the seat frame. I fixed it by removing the seat from the toilet base and driving the stainless steel shaft back into the cover hibge holes.

To remove the toilet seat, use a large phillips head screw drive and unscrew the two long screws that hole the seat to the base.

Then you will see the two steel rods about 1/4 inch in diameter that have worked there way out of the seat hinge. Use a hammer and a screw driver to drive these two hinge pins back out into the toilet seat cover hinge holes.

Replace the toilet seat and screw in the two seat screws being careful to not over tighten them. The seat should now work correctly.

What is the easiest way to remove hard drive from a Gateway T 6313??

I have a Gateway 7510GX. Turn the laptop over. On the side closest to you should be a cover that is held in place w/one or two screws. Reomve this cover and the hard drive should be underneath it. One screw is all that is holding the hard drive tray and the hard drive in place. Remove the screw and gently wiggle the tray loose. There are probably four screws holding the hard drive into the tray. Replacement is the opposite of removal.

Pedal is off center & scraping side

Hello there. What has more than likely happened is that one of your crank arms have come loose. The front covers to access the crank arms are removeable but difficult to do. There are 11 screws and three clips that hold the covers on each side. You will also need an 8 inch phillips head screw driver to remove the covers.
First remove power to the machine.
Second, Using the 8 inch screw driver remove the screw in the hole that is visible on the side of the unit.
Then remove the screw in the hole located just above the arm assembly
Another screw is located inside the cup holder remove that as well
after removing the screw in the cup holder you can lift the cup holder up slightly and access the two screws for the lower cover. There is also another screw under the cupholder holding the side shield on remove that as well.
Next go to the bottom of the lower cover. There will be two screws holding the lower part of the cover on. There are clips on each side of the cover which also connect it to the side shields. If you pull gently on the sides of the cover it will pop off. Only three more screws to go.
If you have the ability to tilt the machine on its side it will help in this step. There are three screws also holding the bottom of the side shield on. remove those as well.
The only thing holding the cover on now are three clips in the front of the machine. These will be difficult to remove! You have to partially seperate the two shields from the top and working your way down pull the two shields away from each other. They will make a loud noise when they come loose so beware.
Once you have gotten the cover loose you can raise it up over the arm assembly.
You can now start working on the original problem.
Once inside you need to locate the crank arm assembly. (this is where the pedal leg connects ) You will see a bolt going through the crank arm where it connects to the crank shaft. both the right and left crank arms should be flush with the crank shaft. To realign the arms you must loosen the bolt holding the crank arm and also loosen the allen screw holding the locating key in place. The arm should then be movable to a point where it can be tapped back flush with the crank shaft. Retighten the bolt loosened in the previous step first. Then retighten the locating key allan screw Be sure to use alot of pressure when tightening the crank bolts to be sure you will not have to do this again.
Reverse the procedure for the covers to reinstall them.

Loose gear

Lock out-Tagout the machine. Remove the top cover, hold the beater shaft while removing the center shaft nut. Then remove the 4 bolts and and hardware on top of the first(worm) shaft and the second(clutch)shaft. you can gently tap the top cover up with a cold chisel on the upper parts of the housing. It's just a friction fit , aligned on two dowels. Once the cover is off, scoop out the grease, remove the side panel and selector assembly. Try and lift all of the first gear assembly together. the newer ones have a series of rollers and springs, which can be easily reassembled, if you see which way everything was. As you rmove parts, lay them on a clean surface in a row in the position they came out. The selector sleeve is marked TOP, but looking at the 4 drive teeth each side, you will see how it drives 2nd and 3rd gears. The clutch and worm shafts lift out together from slip fit bearings in the housing base.

When reassembling, coat everything with new grease, and run before loading all the grease. If you need to remove anything , you won't be up to your wrists in grease doing it. Once all is good, load the grease in the top hole nearest the motor with it running. The gears will feed the grease as you load the 35 OZ.
If you removed the planetary to remove the center shaft, don't tighten the half nut tight. back it off a half turn and lock it with the acorn nut. Otherwise you will loose first gear from pinch friction.
