Try removing the battery and looking at the contacts on the battery and the phone and making sure that they are clean and not dirty or distorted in any way. Reinsert the battery and try again. If this fails then it will most likely be a fault with the battery power sensing circuit inside the phone which will need the phone to be serviced at a repair centre.

Unfortunately I think that it is repair centre time as the charging circuit is obviously working but the switching from external power source to battery is faulty and will need repair or the phone replacing.

Kodak Easy Share z712 IS not detecting charged battery

I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.

A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...

So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one.
I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.

Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything.
What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V

Won't turn on.

Try starting it up without the battery. Batteries can pickup a dead short which will cause a laptop not to start even though they show a full charge.

Motorola Z8. I have a Motorola Z8, it is 4 months old. I have a period error, when it's fully charged and i use it, it shuts down, and i can't start it again before hours later. It gets really hot too....

There is a short in the phone or the battery has a defect. I would bring it in for a service check. If the phone is under warranty, they will either change the circuit board, or give you another phone. If it is out of warranty, it will most likely not be worth to service the phone.

Were you even out in the rain with this phone?
Did you ever splash water or any liquid on this phone?
Did you ever drop this phone?

The three questions above are the most common causes of failures in most mobile phones. When the service tech opens the phone and looks at the circuit board, he will be able to tell if the board ever became wet. There will be burns and or corrosion in the board surface.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.
good luck
